Role Overview Aircraft Technicians are primarily responsible for ensuring that all Diamond aircraft, both Skyborne's own fleet and external customers' fleets, are maintained in the safest, most efficient and fully compliant manner. The role uses a developed skill set to maintain the fleet while providing exceptional service standards reflecting the Skyborne ethos. It is a dynamic and progressive role within an evolving Maintenance department, and the technician will be adaptable and positive. The role is based on site at Gloucestershire Airport, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with participation in a weekend on-call rota, typically one weekend in five. A £70 standby payment is provided for each on-call weekend, and any call-outs are paid at double time. There may be a requirement to travel to any location where Skyborne aircraft may be displaced. Key Responsibilities Carry out scheduled maintenance on fleet aircraft. Conduct defect identification and rectification, plus aircraft-on-ground support as required. Ensure health and safety and regulatory standards are met in the maintenance environment at all times. Support the operational flying programme by carrying out work in line with the fleet maintenance schedule to minimise aircraft downtime. Support compliance with UK CAA regulatory responsibilities as set out in the approved Exposition. Ensure maintenance quality meets the highest standards of airworthiness, taking account of human factors principles. Produce accurate maintenance records for work carried out. Support ongoing hangar cleanliness and organisation to maintain a safe and effective working environment. Support the operation with aircraft handling and stand placement, refuelling, and aircraft valeting and detailing. Practise the company's safety policy and Just Culture. Experience Essential: previous engineering experience in general aviation. Desirable: demonstrable experience of aircraft maintenance on the relevant aircraft group. Experience using computerised maintenance record systems. Extensive experience in the use and interpretation of aircraft maintenance management to determine the correct action for carrying out maintenance procedures. Requirements High standard of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, to interact effectively with staff and produce accurate maintenance records. Understanding of the relevance and application of service bulletins and airworthiness directives. Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
