Role Overview Aircraft Mechanic C - A&P (job code 39880), based on site in Tucson, AZ, on a 5/8 Monday-Friday schedule with the ability to work all shifts (first, second and third). The role manages, directs, supervises, schedules and coordinates assigned shift activities to support site aircraft flight operations, and reports to the Maintenance Manager. Key Responsibilities Manage, direct, supervise, schedule and coordinate assigned shift activities to support site aircraft flight operations Supervise and, where required, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all aircraft systems, including turbofan engines, airframe, flight control and landing gear rigging Troubleshoot systems and carry out daily and turnaround inspections Perform corrosion inspections and related treatment, and washing and cleaning Service aircraft fuel, oil, hydraulic, oxygen and nitrogen systems Carry out structural repairs and support component in-house repair and back shop programmes Perform other duties as required by management Licences & Qualifications Licence: Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licence High school diploma or equivalent, or a 2-year post-secondary/associate degree Ability to obtain and maintain, as a minimum, an interim secret DoD security clearance before hire Ability to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver's licence Valid driver's licence Must be a US citizen Preferred: active DoD security clearance and a valid US passport Experience High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a 2-year post-secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience Minimum of five (5) years of aircraft mechanic level experience Experience in the use of hand and special tools and testers for aircraft maintenance In-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives In-depth knowledge of flight line operations, including aircraft and vehicle movement and safety hazards In-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders, job guides and publications, including the ability to read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications Working knowledge of maintenance database technology, including inputting and extracting data Preferred: recent Gulfstream, Global Jet or business jet experience on civilian and military platforms, including Rolls-Royce turbofan experience Requirements Willingness and ability to work day shift, night shift or weekend duty and to travel up to 40% as part of a maintenance recovery team; CONUS and OCONUS deployment may be required If scheduled to deploy OCONUS, must be in good physical condition and able to pass a required physical exam and CRC Ability to work in the established OCONUS work and living environment on a schedule of 7 days of 12-hour shifts as assigned to support mission requirements Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Preferred: excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a group Additional Information Physical requirements: The work is usually carried out in a flight-line environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking. It may require lifting or moving objects that normally will not exceed 50 lbs. Close and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus are required. Work environment: Working conditions both CONUS and OCONUS range from an environment with little or no physical discomfort to one where inclement weather may bring severe changes in temperature, wind and rain. Work may be required in areas with high noise hazards and exposure to fumes, airborne particles and electrical shock hazards. Requirements
