Job Description

Role Overview The Senior Mechanical Technician 1 carries out scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance on aircraft in the Cessna Citation range. The work is performed under the responsibility of a Team Leader. The post holder acts as support staff in base maintenance and as certifying staff in line maintenance. Key Responsibilities Drawing on a sound knowledge of aircraft systems, and working under the responsibility of the Team Leader, the technician performs at least the following tasks: Manage hangar maintenance projects to achieve optimal productivity on each project. Manage the technicians assigned to projects so that planned delivery dates and times are met. Carry out complete inspections under the supervision of base certifying staff. Perform complex tests independently. Carry out fault-finding, locating and diagnosing any failure or anomaly. Maintain good communication with the Team Leaders on project progress, external supplier requirements and any issue that could affect the aircraft delivery date and time. Prepare the sequence of tasks to be performed using documentation written in English and made up of numerous strict rules and procedures. Replace or repair defective components, following the technical documentation precisely and complying with safety instructions and deadlines. Raise parts orders as required. Ensure the correct removal and reinstallation tooling is used. Record all work performed correctly, ensuring all corrective actions are entered, including the AMM reference and the P/N and S/N of parts installed and removed. Use the appropriate tools and comply with the applicable rules on tool recording, validity checking and keeping tools in good condition. Ensure the filing, order recording and archiving of release certificates for installed parts and components. Ensure cores and parts removed on an exchange basis are correctly returned to stores. Maintain the segregation and identification of all parts and components on the worksite. Follow the maintenance manual procedures and the MOE procedures, and complete all regulatory training on time. Ensure all tasks in progress have been closed out, recording and/or clearing tie-in instructions. Take responsibility for the inventory when toolboxes and tools are issued and returned, report any loss or damage, and follow the lost-tool search process in line with the anti-FOD policy. Comply with the rules on the use of the personal protective equipment provided. Keep the work area tidy and in a state of cleanliness appropriate to the work in progress, and ensure expired products are not used and are disposed of. Contribute to the organisation's safety management system by reporting risks (quality risks and near misses) and taking part in investigations. Book time correctly in SAP for every maintenance task performed and support the efficient work of the team.
