Role Overview STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Mechanics in East Alton, Illinois to perform high-level inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and system adjustments on corporate aircraft. This is a hands-on position for experienced A&P-licensed professionals who take pride in precision maintenance and quality workmanship, and it suits candidates with a military or corporate aviation background who are ready to take on advanced projects. Key Responsibilities Perform general to complex maintenance tasks on aircraft and related systems Install, remove and repair components, panels and sheet metal structures Disassemble and inspect engines, parts and systems for non-conformities Rebuild or replace aircraft structures, including wings, fuselage and hydraulic systems Assemble electrical, mechanical, plumbing and structural accessories Conduct system servicing including crankcase flushing, brake checks and greasing Test engine and system operations using specialised equipment and sound detection Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings and repair specifications Align, calibrate and adjust systems with hand tools and gauges Support maintenance of shop tools, the facility and equipment Work independently and support less experienced technicians as needed Requirements Proficiency in basic computer applications and familiarity with aviation software platforms (Corridor preferred) Valid driver's licence required; passport preferred Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with the FAA-mandated drug and alcohol programme Strong attention to quality, safety and detail Must be reliable, self-motivated and comfortable working in fast-paced settings Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts based on aircraft schedules Physical: ability to lift up to 50 lbs; routine walking, standing, bending, squatting, sitting and stooping; repetitive arm and hand movements; work in hangar environments with wide temperature variation Licences & Qualifications Required: FAA A&P licence Education: high school diploma or GED required; associate degree in aviation technology preferred Experience Minimum of 1 year of current experience in corporate or military aircraft maintenance What We Offer Medical, dental, vision and life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays and vacation time Opportunities for long-term career advancement in aviation Additional Information STS Technical Services offers contract, direct-hire and project-based positions to skilled technicians and engineers. Requirements
