About the Company Envoy Air Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group, provides regional flight service to American Airlines under the American Eagle brand and ground handling services for many American Airlines Group flights. The company was founded in 1998 as American Eagle Airlines, Inc., following the merger of several smaller regional carriers to create one of the largest regional airlines in the world. Envoy is headquartered in Irving, Texas, with hubs in Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago and Miami, and a large ground handling operation in Los Angeles. Role Overview Aircraft Mechanic maintaining the airworthiness of Envoy's fleet and its components, both in service and during scheduled overhaul maintenance, to the standards required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Key Responsibilities Ensure the fleet meets aircraft standards as required by the FAA Maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and all their components while in service or undergoing scheduled overhaul maintenance Complete tasks according to FAA regulations, company policies and procedures, and instructions from Crew Chiefs, Supervisors and Managers Certify the quality of personal workmanship, including signing mechanical flight releases for field work Complete the necessary paperwork and computer entries for any maintenance performed Perform a wide variety of duties such as dismantling, overhauling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, welding and erecting all parts of an aircraft, including airframe, engines, radio equipment, instruments, electrical systems, heating systems, cooling systems and hydraulic systems Test and inspect parts, subassemblies and completed assemblies Keep the shop and work area safe and orderly If qualified, may be responsible for taxiing and towing aircraft for maintenance purposes Licences & Qualifications Licence: valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) licence Valid state driver's licence; some licence restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered Preferred: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator licence Mechanics must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel freely to and from all cities and countries served by the airline in order to complete field trips Experience Preferred: a minimum of one year of aircraft maintenance experience Requirements Minimum age 18 High school diploma or GED equivalent Ability to differentiate colours including red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white and orange Ability to lift items weighing up to 60 lbs Willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends and days off Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Legal right to work in the United States Able to read, write, fluently speak and understand English What We Offer Employee flight privileges within the American Airlines global network Training and development programmes Comprehensive health and life benefits (subject to location) Additional Information This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, except in Abilene, Texas. Candidates must fulfil FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA) where applicable, and must be able to secure the appropriate airport authority or US Customs security badges where applicable. Where applicable, federal law requires Envoy to determine an applicant's history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug or alcohol violations or refusals to test before hiring them into a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements
