Role Overview The Maintenance Training Instructor is responsible for practical training of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) in an informal setting, covering aircraft systems and procedures, maintenance paperwork, test equipment, repair, run/taxi operations and other subjects for aircraft maintenance personnel. Key Responsibilities Teach practical material in a formal classroom setting or on the production floor, including aircraft systems and procedures, maintenance paperwork, test equipment, repair, aircraft system troubleshooting and run/taxi operations. Deliver recurrent, informal, test equipment and on-the-job training to company and vendor personnel. Research, develop, implement and revise curriculum. Conduct aircraft engine run and taxi training and testing using live aircraft, flight simulators or the Virtual Flight Deck (VFD). Assist with the maintenance, upkeep, security and auditing of training records, and ensure proper completion and submission of training documentation. Conduct outstation and vendor operation training as required across all stations. Grant course completion and manage students within the company LMS platform. Promote sound operational judgement and a safety-oriented attitude throughout the organisation. Train AMTs by assisting with troubleshooting of chronic or complex out-of-service aircraft, and train other aircraft maintenance tasks as assigned. Support the company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. In good company standing (Step 1 violations considered). Proficient in the use of the applicable manuals (GMM, AMM, FIM, wiring diagrams and similar), with thorough knowledge of PSA manuals and a good working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Strong ability to use the MS Office suite and maintenance software. Ability to troubleshoot complex aircraft systems and teach others how to troubleshoot. Proficient in delivering on-the-job training, presentations and reports. Working knowledge of test equipment, specialised tools and machinery. Strong communication skills; detail oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment. Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection. Ability to travel and to work different shifts as required. Must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting the position. Ability to speak, read and write in English, and to demonstrate authorisation to work in the U.S. if hired. Licences & Qualifications Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. Completion of PSA Indoctrination training and General Familiarization (training qualifications accepted). Run/taxi qualified within 120 days, and AMA qualification if applicable. Airworthiness Release qualified within 120 days. Experience At least one year of experience working on PSA's aircraft fleet type. Additional Information Delegation: in the incumbent's absence, responsibilities are delegated to the Manager of Maintenance. No specific authorities are assigned and this is not a supervisory position. Work environment: a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, telephones and photocopiers. Physical demands: largely a sedentary role, but the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, climb up and down stairs, lift weight up to 25 lbs, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Security clearance: all employees must pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49 CFR 1542.209 and a pre-employment drug screen.
