Role Overview The Aircraft Traveling Maintenance Technician provides mobile, on-site aircraft maintenance support across multiple stations and outstations to ensure operational continuity, regulatory compliance and the timely return of aircraft to service. The role covers stations with limited staffing, supports temporary gaps, responds to on-the-road maintenance needs and assists with new station start-ups. Key Responsibilities Provide primary or supplemental maintenance coverage across multiple stations and outstations. Support locations without permanently assigned technicians and act as the local maintenance authority. Assist with new station launches and temporary staffing needs. Perform line maintenance, drop-in maintenance and AOG troubleshooting. Accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, avionics and cabin discrepancies. Coordinate with Maintenance Control and communicate findings and timelines. Work with Parts and Logistics and interface with approved vendors. Document all maintenance actions and ensure compliance with the FARs and company manuals. Promote a safety culture, identify hazards and represent the company professionally. Maintain tools and equipment. Perform inspections and return-to-service actions. Requirements Must be at least 23 years of age. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required. High school diploma or GED certification preferred. Basic proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Office 365, Excel, Outlook, Word) or similar applications. Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute. Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills, with polished, professional interpersonal skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude. Strong leadership and time management skills; able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities with flexibility and strong attention to detail. Self-motivated, able to motivate others, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact. Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening and submit to and pass FAA and company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing. Must pass a 10-year work history background check as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks required by the TSA. Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate. Must work in a safe, professional manner, complying with OSHA, EPA, state and federal regulatory requirements. Physical Requirements Frequent stooping, bending and kneeling. Ability to stand for extended periods. Lift and carry objects up to 70 pounds regularly and 100+ pounds occasionally (with assistance). Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding and ladders of varying heights without assistance. Ability to work in cramped spaces and awkward positions as required. Tolerance to noise, vibration and outdoor weather conditions. Ability to wear protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection. Work Environment Airport ramp/warehouse environment subject to varying weather conditions. Regular exposure to aircraft noise and vibration when testing engines. Fast-paced operational setting requiring attention to safety, accuracy and timeliness. Licences & Qualifications FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification. Ability to read and interpret FAA regulations, technical manuals and maintenance documentation in English. Experience Minimum of 2 years' aircraft maintenance experience (commercial, regional or equivalent military experience accepted). A minimum of nine (9) months of prior airline or aviation industry experience is preferred. Contour offers a competitive salary based on prior work experience. Additional Information Schedule Rotation 7 days on / 7 days off rotational schedule. On-duty periods may include extended shifts, nights, weekends and holidays. Travel is required throughout the on-duty rotation, including short-notice assignments.
