Role Overview Structures (Sheet Metal) Technicians are an integral part of the maintenance team. Their experience, practical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills ensure that the aircraft structure and structural systems are maintained in an airworthy and dispatch-ready status at all times. Primary duties include carrying out structural inspections, repairs, modifications, corrosion control and fabrication of aircraft sheet metal components, while supporting the operational status of the Top Aces fleet. The role requires a strong understanding of aircraft structures, attention to detail and the ability to handle the physical demands of the job. Functional responsibilities follow the Top Aces Maintenance Policy Manual: ensure that work accomplished on any aircraft or component is performed in accordance with applicable airworthiness standards and OEM instructions, company policies and procedures, and regulated safety standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of aircraft structures as directed by the maintenance supervisor Inspect, assess, repair, modify or replace damaged or corroded structural components, panels, skins, doublers, brackets and fasteners Fabricate, form and fit sheet metal parts using approved data, drawings, templates and maintenance manuals Carry out blending, stop-drilling, sealing, corrosion treatment and protective finish restoration within authorised limits Interpret and use various measuring tools, repair schemes, blueprints, structural repair manuals and maintenance manuals Ensure all replacement parts and materials are inspected, eligible and properly certified prior to installation Complete work reports for all work accomplished on the aircraft Follow company procedures per the maintenance control manual using safe work practices All other duties as assigned by the supervisor Supervisory, Training and Advisory Responsibilities Supervise (sub)contracted work on larger structural repair projects Provide technical guidance to other technicians on structural tasks when requested by the supervisor Support the training and development of less experienced technicians in structures and sheet metal practices Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong command of English to read, understand and interpret manuals, policies and procedures Able to work well in a team and within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Demonstrates strong and visible support of the company values: Service, Integrity, Excellence, Together Licences & Qualifications Canadian aircraft structures / sheet metal training or equivalent military qualification; European counterpart: EASA Part-66 B1.1 mechanical category with structures experience Relevant security clearance required Experience Minimum of three to five years of recent hands-on aircraft structures / sheet metal maintenance experience in a military, commercial or MRO environment (line and/or base maintenance) Demonstrated experience performing structural inspections, damage assessment and repairs/modifications using approved data (SRM, drawings, engineering orders), including riveting, bonding and use of hi-lock/lockbolt fasteners Experience with corrosion detection and treatment, structural sealing and surface finish restoration; familiarity with common aircraft materials (aluminium alloys, steels, titanium) and composites as applicable Proven ability to fabricate and install sheet metal components (layout, cutting, drilling, deburring, forming and fitment) using standard aviation hand tools and precision measuring equipment Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities Work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations Follow safe work practices and procedures and use safeguards and personal protective equipment Report hazards, such as unsafe situations and activities, to a supervisor immediately What We Offer A work environment in which service, integrity, excellence and teamwork are highly valued Opportunities for development and growth Multidisciplinary and multicultural collaboration at local and global level A flexible schedule Come share your passion with us. Requirements
