Role Overview The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring the ongoing airworthiness of the Sun Country Airlines fleet. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair aircraft to Sun Country Airlines standards Correctly complete paperwork for maintenance performed on aircraft Enter all log items, NRTCs and task cards into TRAX Identify and report problems that could impact daily maintenance operations Communicate with the Maintenance Station Supervisor during all maintenance procedures Maintain an up-to-date on-the-job training file Assist with training newly hired individuals as necessary Carry out housekeeping of maintenance facilities as required Move and park aircraft as operations warrant Move and position ground equipment as needed for the maintenance operation Conduct all tasks safely and in compliance with local, state and federal safety and health regulatory requirements and internal policies Licences & Qualifications A&P licence required High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's licence and acceptable driving record required Must be able to obtain a SIDA badge Preferred: 737NG familiarisation class Preferred: valid US passport Experience Preferred: 2 years of line maintenance Preferred: 2 years of 737NG jet experience Preferred: 2 years of experience in aircraft structural repair Requirements Highly motivated self-starter Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision under stressful situations Must pass a criminal history background check and a pre-employment drug test What We Offer Base compensation of $38.75 per hour plus shift differentials Schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off - night shift Comprehensive benefit package including dental and vision PPO and high-deductible health plans Health savings account and flexible spending account Free standby and discounted travel privileges from day one for employees, family and friends 401(k) match Paid time off and paid holidays Life and AD&D insurance Employee Assistance Program including counselling for employees and their family Fitness incentive and stop-smoking support Additional Information Classification: full-time, non-exempt. Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota. No supervisory responsibility. This position is represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association and the compensation schedule is based on the collective bargaining agreement. Work environment: the job operates in the maintenance hangar and ramp area and is routinely exposed to all weather elements. Physical demands: work is performed standing, sitting and walking, and requires effective communication using speech, vision and hearing; simple grasping and fine manipulation; bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching; and lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling medium weights up to 75 pounds. Involves working around moving machinery and exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity and to dust, fumes and gases. Requirements
