Job Description

Role Overview The Aircraft Maintenance Technician performs various maintenance functions on company aircraft in accordance with all company policies and procedures and all federal aviation regulations, reporting to the Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Key Responsibilities Perform and assist with work approved by the leads within the scheduled shift Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all assigned work documents and records Seek on-the-job training during the work shift so qualification standards are met and maintained Coordinate all activities with the lead mechanic in charge or station supervisor Research all pertinent information and material for work scheduled on aircraft Assist in cleaning up the maintenance work area and ensure all maintenance areas meet good housekeeping standards Maintain positive tool control accountability and immediately report lost or found tools to management Perform data entries as required Comply with and implement the necessary procedures in the MEL/CDL/NEF programme Monitor proper completion of aircraft records such as logbook pages, work cards, non-routines and engineering documents (EOs, EAs and similar) Maintain familiarity with the training requirements defined in the AMTM and ensure training is current before performing the functions and tasks of the position Always follow approved published procedures and never deviate unless a proper deviation is authorised Perform other duties as assigned Licences & Qualifications FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe, Powerplant or both ratings; the certificate must be provided on hire or on request, and requirements may be reviewed based on location and position When requested by management and applicable to the location, must obtain Engine Run / Taxi qualification Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and any location-specific requirements Must be able to obtain an Airport SIDA badge and a United States Customs seal if required Experience Recommended but not required: two years of maintenance experience on Boeing 747-400, 777F or 777-300 or similar aircraft, or successful completion of an accredited A&P mechanic training course Relevant experience areas: maintenance checks, engine changes, gear changes, structural repairs, flight control rigging and component maintenance on Boeing 747-400, 777F or 777-300 or similar aircraft Requirements Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English, write routine reports and correspondence, and give and receive verbal and written direction to team members Must demonstrate behaviour that reflects the company core values of Safety, Respect, Trust, Collaboration, Value and Passion Extremely strenuous physical work: objects in excess of 100 lbs occasionally and in excess of 50 lbs frequently Additional Information Work may be performed in an office, hangar floor or shop environment as well as in an open-air line maintenance environment exposed to the elements. Requirements
