About the Company Sun Country Airlines is a hybrid low-cost carrier with more than 40 years of Minnesota roots. It operates scheduled flights to destinations across the U.S., Canada, Central America and the Caribbean, as well as charter and cargo operations worldwide. Role Overview The Aircraft Maintenance Shift Manager assists the Manager Aircraft Maintenance in the management, conduct, monitoring and control of Sun Country Airlines' maintenance production activities for in-house and vendor maintenance of aircraft, components and powerplants. Key Responsibilities Assist in the direction and supervision of all Minneapolis maintenance personnel Monitor the daily maintenance operation, identify and analyse maintenance problems and implement appropriate corrective actions Assist in hiring and in determining training and qualification requirements for line maintenance personnel, ensuring those requirements are satisfied Schedule short-term, routine and non-routine work requirements and ensure the work is accomplished in a timely, effective and efficient manner Assist in preparing the line maintenance budget, including staffing, facility and equipment Monitor cost performance of in-house and vendor production maintenance activities, identify deviations from budget and establish corrective actions Monitor flight schedule performance, identify problems involving the aircraft maintenance operation and implement corrective actions Direct and monitor maintenance production systems and activities to ensure compliance with company manuals and procedures and with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations Assist mechanics as required in the daily maintenance operation Work closely with Maintenance Planning to schedule the nightly workload in Minneapolis Conduct all tasks safely and in compliance with local, state and federal safety and health regulatory requirements and internal policies Other duties as assigned by management Licences & Qualifications A&P licence required Must be able to obtain a Minneapolis SIDA badge and customs seal Valid driver's licence and passport required Preferred: 737 FAM course completion Experience Two or more years of technical operations experience Previous lead experience Previous experience working in TRAX and AIMS Preferred: previous line maintenance supervisor experience Preferred: A&P experience on the Boeing 737NG Requirements Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong management and people skills with proven leadership ability Ability to multitask in high-stress situations and work effectively with minimal supervision Strong sense of urgency What We Offer Base compensation of $115,000 to $135,000 per year Comprehensive benefit package including dental and vision PPO and high-deductible health plans Health savings account and flexible spending account Free standby and discounted travel privileges from day one for employees, family and friends 401(k) match Paid time off and paid holidays Life and AD&D insurance Employee Assistance Program including counselling for employees and their family Fitness incentive and stop-smoking support Additional Information Classification: full-time, exempt. Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota. Supervisory responsibility: Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. Work environment: primarily a professional office environment using standard office equipment, with work also carried out in the maintenance hangar and ramp area, where the role is routinely exposed to all weather elements. Physical demands: work is performed standing, sitting and walking, and requires effective communication using speech, vision and hearing; simple grasping and fine manipulation; bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching; and lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling medium weights up to 75 pounds. Involves working around moving machinery and exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity and to dust, fumes and gases. Requirements

  • Assist in the direction and supervision of all Minneapolis maintenance personnel
  • Monitor the daily maintenance operation, identify and analyse maintenance problems and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Assist in hiring and in determining training and qualification requirements for line maintenance personnel, ensuring those requirements are satisfied
  • Schedule short-term, routine and non-routine work requirements and ensure the work is accomplished in a timely, effective and efficient manner

  • Monitor cost performance of in-house and vendor production maintenance activities, identify deviations from budget and establish corrective actions
  • Monitor flight schedule performance, identify problems involving the aircraft maintenance operation and implement corrective actions
  • Direct and monitor maintenance production systems and activities to ensure compliance with company manuals and procedures and with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Assist mechanics as required in the daily maintenance operation
  • Work closely with Maintenance Planning to schedule the nightly workload in Minneapolis
  • Conduct all tasks safely and in compliance with local, state and federal safety and health regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • A&P licence required
  • Must be able to obtain a Minneapolis SIDA badge and customs seal
  • Valid driver's licence and passport required
  • Preferred: 737 FAM course completion
  • Two or more years of technical operations experience
  • Previous lead experience
  • Previous experience working in TRAX and AIMS
  • Preferred: previous line maintenance supervisor experience
  • Preferred: A&P experience on the Boeing 737NG
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong management and people skills with proven leadership ability
  • Ability to multitask in high-stress situations and work effectively with minimal supervision
