Role Overview STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Maintenance Representatives in New Iberia, Louisiana. The role manages, directs and controls FedEx heavy maintenance, modification and conversion programmes at maintenance provider facilities, ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with FedEx maintenance, modification and conversion specifications, schedule, configuration requirements and quality standards, and in full compliance with contractual requirements and the Federal Aviation Regulations. Key Responsibilities Represent the company as project leader for all heavy maintenance, modification and conversion activities at assigned maintenance provider facilities Coordinate company instructions, manage and control the execution of maintenance, modification and conversion programmes, and make final decisions on the induction and redelivery of aircraft Make timely decisions on the repair or replacement of parts and components and the correction of discrepancies found during scheduled visits Assure the airworthiness of aircraft redelivered to FedEx after work at contract maintenance providers and sign the airworthiness release as required Monitor contract maintenance providers for hours expended, material issued and ground equipment required during each visit Review all invoices for accuracy, negotiate and approve proposed hours to ensure fair and reasonable billing and delivery within the specified budget Review assigned heavy maintenance, modification and conversion packages, anticipate problems and recommend and coordinate solutions with the provider, other FedEx departments and management Ensure the successful flow of information between FedEx departments, contract maintenance providers, flight crews and others so that specifications, requirements, policies, procedures and contractual arrangements are fully understood Assure all work performed by contract maintenance providers is completed in a timely manner to minimise aircraft out-of-service time and provide accurate, timely status reports to the appropriate FedEx departments Provide on-site review and surveillance of airworthiness directives and ensure all documentation is accounted for and recorded in the aircraft history per the FedEx GMM and the provider contract Maintain open communications and a good working relationship with assigned maintenance providers so that production, quality, safety, legal fitness and cost control issues are identified, communicated and addressed effectively At aircraft delivery, coordinate the debrief of the aircraft to the maintenance provider by the FedEx flight crew, coordinate with FedEx test flight personnel after work completion, provide all pertinent documentation before ground and flight tests, and ensure discrepancies found during acceptance tests are corrected Requirements Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively lead multiple projects Strong organisational, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task effectively Comprehensive computer skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Business Objects Comprehensive presentation, verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of cross-functional departmental processes preferred Licences & Qualifications Required: valid A&P licence Education: bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Experience Five years of relevant experience in aircraft heavy maintenance project and process planning and management 757 aircraft experience required Additional Information To speak to a recruiting professional directly, call 1-800-359-4787.
