Role Overview The Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief reports to the assigned Maintenance Manager. In this role you will plan, develop, manage, oversee and perform maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and record keeping activities for RTFlight aircraft, to assure the proper functioning, high availability and airworthiness of aircraft, equipment and accessories consistent with RTFlight procedures and standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance supporting RTFlight missions, including aircraft departure and arrival activities Plan, implement and maintain effective procedures, policies and systems for aircraft scheduling and maintenance, ensuring accurate, current and complete documentation including records, inspection programmes and maintenance manuals, and that RTFlight standards, effective cost controls, requirements, schedules and commitments are met Oversee offsite major repair and overhaul projects and all related services to achieve compliance with RTFlight standards and FAA regulations Perform on-site inspection, maintenance, repair, modification and test of RTFlight aircraft and component equipment, including sophisticated electronic navigational and control devices, mechanical and hydraulic systems and gas turbine engines Train to be capable on all RTFlight aircraft while focusing on one airframe type for additional duties and training, including inspection packages, due lists, logbook entries, audits and research Establish priorities and coordinate with RTFlight supporting departments or contractors to ensure aircraft are airworthy and the facility is properly maintained, which may include oversight of passenger accommodations, the hangar facility and janitorial services, maintenance of associated ground support equipment, and maintaining adequate supplies of tools, serviceable parts, components and consumables Manage aircraft maintenance costs so that both operating and capital budgets are considered in decision making, and support the development of financial plans for aircraft maintenance and facilities operations Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for future aircraft work, including downtime needs, and provide scheduling input to Maintenance Managers Provide management of general facilities maintenance and housekeeping, and oversight of RTX environmental, health and safety policies and procedures within RTFlight leased, rented or owned properties Order parts, components, tools, consumables and supplies, provide validation, proper account assignments and pre-approval when reviewing vendor billings, and manage the aircraft spares inventory including ordering, documentation and receiving inspections Maintain and complete all processes within span of control in accordance with the current RTFlight Quality Management System and IS-BAO requirements and procedures Ensure all activities comply with the applicable Raytheon Technologies and government guidelines, and take on additional tasks and responsibilities as appropriate Travel worldwide without restriction, up to 10% of the time Licences & Qualifications Valid A&P certificate Typically a university degree with a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree Demonstrated knowledge of the Flight Operations Manual Demonstrated knowledge of the CFRs and standards relating to aircraft maintenance Must be authorised to work in the U.S. without company immigration sponsorship now or in the future; the company will not offer immigration sponsorship or seek an export authorisation for this role. No security clearance is required. Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite, including all production and maintenance employees. Shifts may vary between 1st and 2nd shift as needed. This is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. Requirements
