Role Overview Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join the team as an Aircraft Maintenance Controller. The position is responsible for coordinating maintenance discrepancies and corrections on all operational aircraft and for monitoring all line station mechanical problems. It reports to the Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Control. Key Responsibilities Coordinate maintenance discrepancies and corrections on all operational aircraft. Monitor all line station mechanical problems and hold maintenance recovery time to a minimum. Monitor aircraft availability and coordinate equipment changes with Maintenance and Dispatch. Provide technical assistance to all maintenance personnel. Execute the Minimum Equipment List / Configuration Deviation List (MEL/CDL) programme, coordinating with Dispatch and Maintenance Planning as outlined in company manuals. Coordinate parts and staffing requirements for mechanical interruptions, engine changes and field repairs. Monitor field repairs and coordinate the return of work crews to their home base. Arrange charter aircraft to dispatch parts and/or maintenance technicians to outstations. Notify the Inspection department of reportable incidents involving any company-operated aircraft. Coordinate checking of engine oil quantities and record the results. Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Good communication skills. Good working knowledge of the aircraft system and of flight operations. Knowledge of the relevant parts of the Maintenance Policies and Procedures Manual, including applicable provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations. Understanding of aircraft computer maintenance record-keeping systems. A positive attitude toward productivity, quality and safety. Licences & Qualifications Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and company-issued licences. Experience At least one year of experience as a certified mechanic. Preferred: experience maintaining aircraft of the type operated by the company. What We Offer Starting rate of $34.13 per hour, plus bonuses awarded in line with company policies and applicable criteria. Paid training, holiday pay, vacation and a 401(k) plan. Additional Information Work environment: standard office environment with use of computers and other office equipment, plus an airport ramp and warehouse environment subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels. Must be available to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays. Physical requirements: frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting and climbing up and down stairs; handling objects up to 70 pounds regularly and up to 100+ pounds occasionally with assistance from co-workers or tools. Pre-employment: employment is contingent on a clear driving record, a 10-year criminal history records check and a drug screen as required.
