Role Overview Safair Operations, trading as FlySafair, has a vacancy for an Aircraft Fleet Projects Specialist at its Head Office in Johannesburg. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Aircraft Fleet Specialist. Department: Asset Management. Job reference: AFSO0002. Permanent position, one vacancy, market-related salary. Key Responsibilities Inspections and technical records Coordinate physical inspections of aircraft, engines, major modules and technical records as required by lessors, buyers and contractual agreements Perform due diligence audits and technical reviews of aircraft records to verify compliance with contractual, regulatory and airworthiness requirements Verify that maintenance activities have been performed in accordance with approved maintenance programmes, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections of aircraft (locally and internationally), engines and major modules in accordance with approved work instructions Conduct physical aircraft inspections locally and internationally to determine suitability for the fleet Ensure applicable airworthiness authority requirements are met Technical oversight Provide oversight of maintenance activities performed during delivery and redelivery projects to ensure quality, efficiency and compliance with approved standards Provide technical guidance and support for fault finding, troubleshooting and rectification activities Provide technical expertise and guidance on the applicable aircraft type and associated systems Ensure spares are available on time, correctly certificated and at the correct location Ensure modification work packs are available and approved Coordinate manpower and skill requirements for production and records Project management Oversee and coordinate aircraft and engine delivery and redelivery projects, ensuring all project milestones, timelines, deliverables and contractual obligations are achieved Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource requirements and implementation timelines for assigned projects Prepare and present project progress reports highlighting milestones, risks, constraints and dependencies to relevant stakeholders Coordinate the availability of materials, components, tooling, equipment and inventory required to support project execution Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, lessors, buyers and service providers to ensure project requirements and deadlines are achieved Inform and update the Asset Management team on planned and unplanned maintenance activities affecting aircraft deliveries and redeliveries Act as the primary liaison between Technical Operations and Asset Management to ensure alignment of project objectives and requirements Team leadership Provide day-to-day oversight and direction to technicians and other personnel assigned to delivery and redelivery projects Set team objectives and performance expectations aligned to project and business requirements Motivate, organise and coordinate team activities to ensure productivity and effective project execution Identify and remove operational barriers affecting project delivery, quality or efficiency Support team members in resolving technical and operational challenges Licences & Qualifications Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent Essential: Licensed AME with a SACAA A & C Licence on the B737-800 Valid passport required Experience Essential: minimum 10 years' relevant experience Essential: previous experience working on the B737-800 Essential: on-the-job training (OJT) experience Essential: previous people management experience Essential: project management experience Sound knowledge of, and experience in, aircraft maintenance principles and practices Knowledge of aircraft records, aviation regulations, aviation quality standards and aircraft lease and engine contract administration Knowledge of the relevant sections of SACAA, 2Reg, FAA and EASA regulations Requirements Available and willing to travel internationally at short notice Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) Detailed and able to work under pressure, with immaculate time-keeping Leadership skills, good troubleshooting skills and exceptional interpersonal skills Strong planning and organisational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication Personal attributes Professional, high integrity, self-disciplined and ethical Reliable and dependable, and committed to delivering quality work Proactive self-starter able to work without supervision Approachable and a motivator of people What We Offer Permanent position with a market-related salary Head Office role in Johannesburg within the Asset Management department Additional Information Application guidance: email applications will not be accepted. Requirements
