Role Overview STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Composites Technicians in Macon, Georgia. The technician examines, repairs, assembles and tests aircraft accessories such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices and following shop orders and manufacturer specifications. This is a journeyman technician role requiring intermediate skills to perform most of the standard tasks within the assigned technical area. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components, including complete operational checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls Determine when a component should be repaired or replaced, decide on the necessary repair scheme and the quantity and type of parts needed, and secure those parts from Stores or departmental supplies Repair, rework and modify worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary Follow approved maintenance procedures for the subject component or system, consulting FAA-approved internal procedures, OEM technical data and work package instructions Consult the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process Inspect completed work before sign-off to identify any needed rework, perform that rework, and ensure repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances Perform serviceability tests on repaired components and systems using OEM-specified test equipment Complete work package documentation by signing or stamping after finishing all designated operations Submit completed and in-progress work to the Maintenance Lead for review and to Quality Assurance for inspection and re-certification of airworthiness Provide the supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data as requested Properly account for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities Comply with repair station procedures (RSM and QCM) and company policies (SOP) when performing aircraft or component maintenance Licences & Qualifications Education: high school diploma or GED Preferred: Airframe or Powerplant licence Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience on at least one aircraft type Demonstrated proficiency in at least one aircraft discipline through prior work experience, including structures Additional Information To speak to a recruiting professional directly, call 1-800-359-4787.
