Cobham Mission Systems have an exciting opportunity for a Avionics Systems Engineer at Wimborne.

The Avionics Systems Engineer is responsible for technical support including the planning and execution of all stages of lifecycle management relating to the avionic system design activities. Create, develop, and review avionic system design drawings and documentation as required. The systems design engineer will support customer and external agency audits and reviews as required. Provide technical mentoring to other team members.

As a Avionics Systems Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve:

* Generation, review and approval of avionic system design data.

* Generation and review of avionic system design change impact assessments.

* development and delivery new products processes and technologies.

* Support the definition and agreement of the process for systems requirements capture and management.

* Lead / provide support to avionic systems investigations.

* Generate , review, and approve change, conformance and failure documentation maintaining perspective on the avionic system requirements.

* Escalate risks and opportunities which may have a direct / indirect effect on the technical delivery of the avionic system lifecycle or product.

* Provide support to the technical leadership team in all areas of the avionic system design lifecycle and delivering the hardware solution.

* Support the improvement of the team competencies and skills.

* Ensuring compliance with legislative & regulatory requirements

* Co-operate with management to meet the employer's legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

As a Avionics Systems Engineer, your skills and qualifications and core competencies will ideally include:

* Have a formal Engineering qualification

* Experience of working within a structured Quality Control and LCM framework.

* Experience of avionic systems design in aerospace environment.

* Experience of requirements capture and management.

* experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and to have used SCADE or SysML.

* Experience of using SysML, ANSYS SCADE, Mathworks tools & Doors would be a preference.
