Specific Responsibilities
- Verify that takeoff, approach, and landing phases are conducted in weather conditions that are not below the established minimums for the airport in use, except in an emergency situation, in which case the Pilot in Command may act according to their judgment.
- Ensure that all instruments and equipment required for the flight, including those necessary to respond to an emergency, as well as all survival and safety equipment on board, are accessible and in proper working condition.
- Complete the navigation section of the operational flight plan in order to monitor the progress of the flight.
- The Pilot in Command is responsible for any voluntary or accidental deviation from the original flight plan and, if such a deviation occurs, must inform Air Traffic Control services.
- Ensure that the flight is conducted in compliance with all applicable AAC regulations and requirements.
- If a situation arises that may endanger the safety of the aircraft or its occupants, the Pilot in Command may take any action they consider appropriate in the interest of flight safety, even if such action deviates from existing regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
- AAC-stamped copy of the last three pages of the pilot logbook.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, minimum Level 4 proficiency, both spoken and written, certified by the AAC.
- Valid medical fitness certificate.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to work according to operational requirements and the time required by the operation.
- Ability to adapt to different processes and requirements necessary to begin the selection process.
