Job Description

About the Company This position is with the Airbus India Training Centre (AITC), a newly formed 50:50 joint venture between Airbus and the Tata-owned Air India. Delivering on its commitment to 'Skill India', the joint venture training centre in Gurugram, Haryana will offer A320 and A350 flight training to some 5,000 new pilots over ten years. AITC is a strategically critical project for both organisations, with the ambition of forming a leading aviation academy in South Asia that can positively affect the operations and safety standards of Airbus and Air India operators in the region. Role Overview As a Synthetic Flight Instructor you will instruct airline crews converting to Airbus on all operational and technical aspects for a specific type (or types) using: Fixed base simulators Classroom Airbus pilot training devices Full flight simulators You will give stand-up lectures to ensure airline crews are able to carry out safely and correctly all normal and emergency procedures required by the airworthiness authorities, so that crews achieve the required standard of proficiency. You will adhere to Airbus standard policy and standardisation as required by Airbus Flight Training Operations, instruct crews within the defined time limits, evaluate crews' progression and decide, where necessary, whether extra sessions are needed to achieve the required level of proficiency. Key Responsibilities Instruct crews using the training devices listed above. Deliver other specific courses where required and after being indoctrinated (for example ETOPS and performance). Participate, where needed, in course development or standardisation instruction. Licences & Qualifications Licence: hold or have held an EASA and/or DGCA ATPL. A type rating on an Airbus aircraft (held now or previously) is a plus. A Synthetic Flight Instructor authorisation or instructor experience would be a plus. Negotiation level of English is required. Experience 3,000 hours total flight time as a pilot. A minimum of 1,500 flight hours on multi-pilot aircraft (MPA). Recognised for pedagogy, perseverance, flexibility, curiosity and adaptability. Available for business trips worldwide.
