Project Engineer - Fleet Renewal Program

We are seeking experienced Project Engineers based in Mascot, to join a major Fleet Renewal Program delivering next-generation aircraft and cabin upgrades across a modern airline fleet.

About the Role

You will support the end-to-end aircraft cabin lifecycle, including design, certification, modification embodiment, and entry into service (EIS). The role involves working on both new aircraft introductions and existing fleet retrofit programs.

Key programs include:

  • Airbus A321XLR and A350-1000 (Project Sunrise)
  • Airbus A330 & A380 cabin upgrades
  • Boeing 787 cabin and connectivity enhancements

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering design review and certification activities
  • Ensure compliance with CASA, EASA, and FAA requirements
  • Support aircraft configuration control and modification integration
  • Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Support entry into service, testing, and defect resolution
  • Conduct risk and safety assessments in line with SMS principles

About You

You are a highly capable engineer who thrives in complex aviation environments and brings a strong balance of technical expertise and stakeholder engagement.

You will also possess:

  • Strong aerospace or mechanical engineering background
  • Experience in aircraft systems, cabin modifications, or fleet programs
  • Solid understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks (CASA / EASA / FAA)
  • Experience with aircraft configuration control, modification embodiment, or EIS activities highly regarded
  • Exposure to OEM or supplier coordination within aviation programs (Airbus, Boeing, or equivalent)
  • Ability to interpret engineering data, drawings, compliance reports, and certification documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage technical issues in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging across engineering, operations, and commercial stakeholders
