About the Company Airbus Helicopters, Inc. has its U.S. regional headquarters in a suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, where it employs more than 1,000 people. Role Overview Airbus Helicopters, Inc. (AHI) is seeking an experienced rotorcraft pilot to join the Flight Operations team. This is a customer-facing role delivering ground school instruction (75%) and advanced flight training (20%) to customer personnel, alongside production test flights, ferry missions and customer demonstrations. Administrative duties account for the remaining 5%. Key Responsibilities Classroom instruction (75%) Deliver ground and flight instruction and training for customer personnel. Receive and update flight manuals and screen service bulletins and letters to maintain training courseware and curriculum. Set up classrooms and training resource materials. Aircraft flight (20%) Perform flight training as an instructor pilot with transition and recurrent students in Airbus helicopters, training and evaluating normal, abnormal and emergency manoeuvres and procedures. Become familiar with new or modified systems, instrumentation and other equipment installed on the aircraft. Prepare the monthly flight log and reports. Ensure compliance with FAA and other regulations on all Flight Operations assignments. Prepare required pre-flight and post-flight documentation and reports detailing significant occurrences. Coordinate flight results with Quality Assurance, Flight Line and Flight Operations personnel. Pilot aircraft on demonstration flights with potential customers in support of the Marketing Department. Support other Flight Operations missions such as customer deliveries, demonstrations and ferry flights. Administrative duties (5%) Assist customers with flight-related maintenance and performance questions. Prepare daily risk assessments and flight plans. Take part in global company workshops setting pilot training standards as the voice of AHI and North American customer training needs. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Able to operate company aircraft and maintain the required FAA certificate and medical requirements. Able to compose written documentation and to read and interpret technical drawings, data and specifications. Ability to conduct flight training at night. Willing to work with translators in the classroom and cockpit. Travel: 30% domestic and international; on-site in Grand Prairie, Texas, 70% of the time except when travelling. Must be a US Person or authorised to work in the US. Physically able to carry and lift up to 30 lbs / 14 kg, sit, stand, squat, kneel and walk on uneven surfaces, and to see, hear and speak as required for training and flight duties. PPE: flight suit, gloves, boots and company issued flight helmet, with deviations authorised under the AHNA Flight Operations Manual for non-flight-test operations; additional PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators or masks and protective gloves may be required by the site or customer site. Licences & Qualifications FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate. Commercial helicopter licence, IFR rating and Certified Flight Instructor - Helicopter (CFI) rating. Preferred: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). Preferred: Certified Instrument Flight Instructor - rotorcraft helicopter (CFII). Preferred: BS/BA degree or higher. Experience Minimum five years of flight experience. Minimum 2,000 pilot-in-command hours in helicopters, of which at least 500 hours must be in turbine powered helicopters. 100 or more hours of flight experience in the last 12 calendar months. Preferred: flight time in Airbus helicopters. Preferred: 1,000 hours of multi-engine time in helicopters. Preferred: experience with night vision goggles. Preferred: proficiency in Spanish.
