Operational leader

ALG Talent is currently seeking an Operational Leader on an expression of interest basis to join a reputable aviation organisation in Melbourne and support its operational leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a solid operational and business mindset, combined with strong people management skills, to step into a hands-on leadership role. You'll support a team of tradespeople and assist the existing supervision team with day-to-day operations and business processes.


About the role:

• Provide hands-on support to lead and motivate a team of tradespeople (including Trade Assistants, Aircraft Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers) as needed
• Support existing supervisors by taking on business processes, people management tasks and occasional project work
• Promote and uphold safety systems and compliance, including risk assessments
• Assist in cost and business management activities
• Work in a dynamic, trade-based operational environment
  
  

What we're looking for:

• Strong background in operational and people leadership
• Experience from trade-based industries such as aviation, automotive, transport, freight, logistics, or similar (Desirable but not essential)
• Available to work Monday to Friday: 7am to 4pm and, or shift work
• Financial awareness to support cost-effective operational decisions
• Confident understanding of safety systems, risk management and compliance
• Practical mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day leadership and business priorities
• Reliable, steady approach to taking pressure off existing teams
