BelgiumJob Description
About the Company Brussels Airlines is Belgium's home carrier and one of the four network airlines of the Lufthansa Group, flying from the heart of Europe to over 90 destinations worldwide, including 17 across Sub-Saharan Africa. Its culture is warm and inclusive, focused on wellbeing and flexibility for more than 3,500 people, and it was ranked number 4 in 2025 in Randstad's Employer Brand charts. Role Overview This is a cadet pilot training programme, not a direct-entry flying job. For the first time in its history, Brussels Airlines is opening vacancies for cadet pilots. After an intense 19-month training course conducted by its training partner, Skywings Flight Training, successful candidates join the airline as First Officers, flying passengers to and from the heart of Europe on the Airbus A320 fleet. The programme is open to ambitious team players who work hard, persevere and can perform under pressure, whether they have just left secondary school or are changing career. No flying experience or knowledge of aviation is required. Requirements Hold a passport of one of the member states of the European Union Be fluent in English, spoken and written Be fluent in French and/or Dutch, spoken and written Be able to obtain an EASA Class 1 medical certificate before the start of training Be able to present a certificate of good conduct Be able to present proof of completing secondary education Additional Information Selection After an initial screening, shortlisted candidates are invited to an extensive screening process that includes at least basic aptitude testing, an English written and oral test, psychological testing, a mathematics and physics test, and an HR interview. The training programme Successful candidates start 19 months of flight training with Skywings Flight Training, based at Antwerp Airport. On graduation, trainees hold an EASA MPL licence with a type rating on the Airbus A320; the MPL evolves into an ATPL after 1,500 flight hours and once all experience and competence requirements are met. The training is full time and cannot be combined with other activities such as a side job. There are little to no vacation periods but ample rest days, and training occasionally takes place at weekends and outside office hours. The main training base is the Skywings campus at Antwerp Airport, but part of the training may take place at a fair-weather base in Spain, in which case accommodation and transport are included in the price; accommodation and transport in Belgium are at the candidate's expense. Employment after training On successful completion you receive a contract as a First Officer with Brussels Airlines and are scheduled for your first passenger flights. During the first months a training captain accompanies you through line training, after which a final practical assessment, the line check, must be passed before you are fully released as a First Officer. Cost This partially sponsored training programme costs EUR 99,500 including VAT, payable in three instalments. The price includes all training costs except landing fees, the Antwerp Airport security badge and the initial Class 1 medical. How to apply Apply through the Brussels Airlines job platform, uploading a CV, motivation letter, certificate of good conduct and secondary school diploma if completed. The programme may be subject to changes. Application deadline: 1 November 2026. CVWarehouse job id: 402262. Board category: Cockpit. Work type: employee. Work schedule: full time.
