Materials & Logistics Analyst

Are you experienced in logistics, inventory planning or aviation supply chain? Join a leading Australian airline and play a key role in keeping the fleet operating safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

About the Role

As a Materials & Logistics Analyst, you'll manage the planning, purchasing and control of aircraft parts and tooling to support daily operations and scheduled maintenance.

You'll ensure the right parts are available at the right time - meeting CASA and airworthiness requirements - while optimising cost and minimising operational risk.

This role manages inventory valued at approximately $100M and works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Technical Records and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Planning

  • Monitor stock levels across all maintenance bases
  • Forecast part demand and plan inventory requirements
  • Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery
  • Set up new inventory for fleet expansions (e.g. new aircraft types)
  • Analyse TRAX (or similar systems) data for forecasting accuracy

Procurement & Cost Control

  • Obtain and compare supplier quotes
  • Negotiate pricing and service agreements
  • Monitor supplier performance and SLAs
  • Ensure compliance with CASA and airworthiness regulations
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities (PMA alternatives, vendor review, etc.)

Inventory Control & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain inventory accuracy and stock rotation
  • Manage rotable repairs and reduce "No Fault Found" costs
  • Implement process improvements
  • Generate reports and track KPIs

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Planning and Commercial teams
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Support procurement strategy and supplier risk management

About You

  • 3+ years' experience in logistics, inventory or supply chain (aviation preferred)
  • Qualification in Engineering, Logistics or relevant experience
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Advanced Excel and strong system skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Strong understanding of procurement, finance and compliance principles
