Role Overview As one of Ascent's team of Maritime Helicopter Instructors, you join an experienced, hardworking and dedicated team operating in a challenging maritime environment where no day is the same, and the diverse role calls for a wide range of skills. You will build relationships with trainees and stakeholders across the business, and with customer and supplier organisations, to ensure efficient delivery of airborne and synthetic Rotary Wing Training as part of the UK Military Flying Training System. Instructor input is valued as courses are developed to meet the customer's requirements. Key Responsibilities Teach all aspects of the Rotary Wing Maritime (Winching) syllabus through phase briefs, technical lessons, practical demonstrations using state-of-the-art synthetic equipment, and airborne sorties Assess trainees by grading syllabus sorties and completing sortie report forms and end-of-course documentation Assist in continuous development by creating new lessons while maintaining and improving existing ones Assist the Chief Maritime Instructor with other tasks supporting Ascent business continuity and resilience Embrace Ascent's One Team ethos and Total Safety culture Requirements Experience in the military rotary-wing environment Medical fitness to conduct the role, either Civilian Class 1 or Military PME, and achievement of Underwater Escape Training certification Minimum 1,000 hours rotary-wing flying experience Experience of flying in a maritime environment Competent with computer programmes such as Windows, the Microsoft Office suite and Explore Ability to work successfully in situations that can often be pressured, showing initiative and flexibility Desirable but not essential: A recognised instructional category as a current or former military QHI or equivalent Some experience of ab-initio training Some experience as a helicopter captain in the maritime environment Some experience of rotary-wing synthetic training What We Offer Fully qualified salary: £91,577 Training salary: £78,212

Requirements
