Role Overview The Maintenance Technical Pilot (MTP) is responsible for the safe operation of Part 91 flights in compliance with the applicable PSA manuals, handbooks and documents for PSA pilots. MTPs use strong communication and teamwork, together with their knowledge of company operations and manuals, to further improve PSA policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with other crew members to ensure a safe and reliable flight operation. Comply with all applicable FARs and TSA and DOT regulations, as well as company procedures and policies. Comply with all administrative programs, including airport and route qualification, flight time limitations, currency requirements (medicals, take-offs and landings, home study courses), pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies and procedures, and others as assigned. Ensure pilot appearance, attendance and personal conduct comply with company policy, including the Part 91 Policy and Procedures Handbook, culture and core values. Hold full responsibility and authority for all crew members and for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight, from the time crew members report for duty, while en route, at intermediate departure points, and until crew members go off duty for a rest period. Submit reports on irregularities or incidents as required. Take an active role in promoting positive attitudes towards culture, core values, compliance and safety. Immediately notify the Assistant Director of Flight Technical of any discrepancy or incident that may affect the individual's or the company's ability to operate within the parameters of safety, regulatory compliance and fiscal responsibility. Conduct a visual preflight and post-flight (walk-around) inspection for each flight. Take responsibility for the company Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and the associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs. Perform other duties as assigned. Authorities Take action as deemed necessary to resolve any problem or situation that may compromise safety or compliance. Direct the flight crew in a safe and efficient manner to meet the operational requirements of the company. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to maintain and demonstrate a working knowledge of FAA requirements and of company and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to speak, read and write English. If hired, must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the United States. Licences & Qualifications Currently hold, or be able to obtain, an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit. Currently hold, or be able to obtain, a First Class Medical. Currently hold, or be able to obtain, a valid U.S. or foreign passport with the applicable visas before training. Experience Previous PSA Captain with Part 121 line experience. Additional Information This is a supervisory position. In the incumbent's absence, responsibilities are delegated to the Assistant Director of Flight Operations Technical. The vacancy is advertised across several PSA Airlines locations. Work environment: professional office environment using standard office equipment. The role is largely sedentary, but the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 25 lbs, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Security clearance: all employees must pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49 CFR 1542.209 and a pre-employment drug screen.
