Line Maintenance Control Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview The Line Maintenance Control (LMC) Engineer is responsible for all technical matters needed to ensure continuity of the flying operation wherever possible, through quick and efficient resolution of any technical issues that develop during production. The Line Maintenance Controller coordinates and controls all maintenance requirements relating to the line operation, ensuring fast and effective recovery to expedite the return to service of the aircraft through the allocation of resources and spares, while maintaining continued communication with the wider business. Department: LMC. Reports to the LMC Manager. Position type: permanent, full-time. Work pattern: shifts including nights. Key Responsibilities Within Part M requirements, provide effective and timely technical advice and support to the Operations Control Centre (OCC), line engineers and flight crews. Liaise with the Part M / Part CAMO post holder and/or the OMM Manager for guidance and clarification. Liaise with the OCC on all technical matters, ensuring they have up-to-date, clear information and understand the cause of production delays or AOG situations. Support and manage information on AOG (aircraft on ground) recovery plans and incidents on the ground. Manage and oversee the line maintenance plan so Operations have clear visibility of planned maintenance inputs, line service checks and Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs). Ensure all ADDs are raised against the correct Minimum Equipment List (MEL) reference and satisfy the limitations referenced, while monitoring and risk assessing all ADD defects for the cumulative effect of multiple deferred defects. Ensure all raised ADDs are tracked, planned and closed expeditiously and before expiry. Give technical support to line engineers troubleshooting defects and repetitive defects. Maintain and update company aircraft maintenance software systems to reflect aircraft serviceability and availability. Ensure all guidance given complies with Part M/145 procedures and technical instructions, using the necessary spares, tooling and manpower with reference to the correct aircraft maintenance manuals. Attend and deliver briefings to the wider business and produce status reports as required. Ensure all activities are carried out safely and that good housekeeping standards are always met. Licences & Qualifications Desirable: valid EASA B1 and/or B2 licence, or ICAO equivalent. Desirable: current Human Factors and FTS Level 2, EWIS. Engineering qualification at HND level, or equivalent experience. Experience Minimum 5 years of aviation line and/or base maintenance experience. Skills on Boeing B737 Classic and Next Generation, or similar. Proactive, self-motivated and confident self-starter; effective and positive team player. Confident and effective written and verbal communication skills. Able to make sound judgements and decisions based on the needs of the company operation in a very dynamic, fast-changing environment. Proven problem-solving ability and excellent planning and organising skills. What We Offer Salary of £67,972.00, plus shift pay of £2,800. Annual pay review. Additional Information Shift pattern includes 12-hour day and 12-hour night shifts on a fixed roster system, with one working weekend every sixth week and rostered days working from home.
