About the Company Breeze Airways describes itself as the newest and nicest airline and is looking for "Seriously Nice" pilots to fly the Lear 45. Its pilots are expected to be leaders who look after Team Members and Guests and who treat the pursuit of excellence as a journey rather than a destination. Role Overview Breeze Airways Lear 45 Captains are responsible for safe and timely flight operations in accordance with all company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Key Responsibilities Ensure the safe and timely completion of flight operations under all company policies and FARs. Operate assigned flights after determining the airworthiness of the aircraft and reviewing current weather, field conditions, navigational aids and other factors relevant to flight safety. Take responsibility for the operation of the aircraft during the designated period of duty unless relieved by company authority. Supervise the enroute performance of the other crew members assigned to the aircraft. Maintain a high degree of proficiency and thorough knowledge of the flight operations, procedures and systems applicable to the aircraft flown. Confirm the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft through pre-flight and post-flight inspections in line with company policy and the FARs. Become familiar with existing and forecast departure, arrival and, where applicable, alternate station weather before each flight. Ensure each flight is planned and fuelled properly so that it can be conducted safely and within current policies and regulations. Assist with and ensure proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage and cargo at terminal points where other company personnel are unavailable. Notify crew and passengers promptly of turbulence, adverse weather or other operational factors affecting the flight. Observe the rules of conduct set out in the company Team Member Playbook and the Pilot Playbook. Assess risk and use the proper resources to keep risk at an acceptable level in all phases of ground and flight operations. Perform other flight officer duties as assigned. Requirements At least 23 years old at the time of hire. High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement. Pilot training history accurately maintained and disclosed in line with FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) regulations. Valid US driver's licence and valid passport; able to travel to and from the United States without restriction. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and successfully complete training. Must pass a TSA fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check. Authorisation to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Licences & Qualifications FAA unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with airplane multi-engine class rating. Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate. Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator's Permit. Preferred: Lear 45 type rating. Experience 2,500+ hours total time (excluding simulator and Flight Engineer time). Minimum 1,000 hours fixed-wing PIC. Minimum 1,000 hours fixed-wing multi-engine. Minimum 500 hours fixed-wing jet. Minimum 500 hours multi-crew. Actively flying in two of the past five years. Preferred: Lear 45 Captain experience and previous US Part 135 or Part 121 experience. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe products; able to build cooperative relationships across departments and to work with individuals and teams at all levels; exemplifies the Breeze safety culture, values and mission. Additional Information Physical demands and working conditions: sit at the flight controls for extended periods, including long-duration flights; operate flight controls, switches and systems requiring manual dexterity and physical force; hold a valid FAA medical certificate meeting the applicable vision, hearing and physical standards; enter and exit the flight deck safely, including under emergency conditions; lift and stow flight bags and equipment up to 25 pounds; work in a pressurised cabin environment with changes in altitude and air pressure.
