About the Company Airbus Commercial Aircraft is recruiting several experienced Ground Test Engineers, also known as pre-flight live aircraft test technicians, to join the Quality teams of the Customer Line. The positions are permanent contracts based near Toulouse, France, at St Martin or Colomiers, both served by public transport, company shuttles and cycle paths. Toulouse is the world capital of aeronautics and the European capital of space research, a dynamic city in south-west France with an international airport, located between the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Pyrenees. Role Overview In the Airbus Customer Line, the post holder is the technical and safety authority for the aircraft during the operational phase before flight. You are responsible for the integrity of the whole aircraft during operational tests before the delivery phase, and for the safety of people and of the aircraft during operational tests and aircraft interventions such as rework and troubleshooting. Your Working Environment You will be part of a team of around ten people and will work in the Customer Line in an outdoor working position, within a multifunctional team representing all the trades of a production group: production operators and team leaders, technical support and logistics support. You will also work with the design office, the preparation offices, the flight test teams and the certification and conformity departments. Key Responsibilities As an experienced test and quality technician, carry out and certify the completion of PATM (Production Aircraft Test Manual) ground tests before first flights, under delegation from the Production Flight Tests department. Static tests. Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) de-preservation and first run. First engine start. Brake and steering tests. Engine functional tests. Low-speed taxi tests. Prepare the aircraft environment for the ground tests, and carry out associated troubleshooting and test resumption. Within the production group, act as the technical and safety authority for the aircraft during the operational pre-flight phase. Define the technical priorities for operations on the aircraft. Present the conformity documents under your responsibility at the FOT, Pre-First Flight Meeting (PFFM) and Hand Over meetings. Present the Technical Log Book (TLB) to the flight test engineer before the flight. After the flight, analyse the malfunctions reported by the flight test engineer and organise the rectification and technical troubleshooting actions. Guarantee the administrative and functional completeness of the aircraft file for the first flight and for delivery, with exemplary rigour and quality. Requirements Essential: experience in live aircraft testing combined with a quality mindset. Proven experience in MRO or with airlines or an engine manufacturer, and/or work as an aircraft technician, for example in the air force or the navy. Knowledge or experience of quality management systems and quality tools. Knowledge of IT systems. Essential knowledge of safety practices and procedures. Essential knowledge of industrial technical processes in aeronautics. Ability to work in a team and a collaborative spirit. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to take a step back. Languages: French is the day-to-day language; English is used in writing every day, with occasional spoken English (intermediate level desired). Day and evening shift work and weekend work (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) are expected, so availability accordingly is required. Licences & Qualifications An EASA Part-66 B1 or B2 licence and/or an engine run-up course are expected. Engine run-up course training would be a plus. A private pilot licence would be a plus. Experience working with Microsoft Office products. Fitness for hyperbaric work.
