Role Overview Gateway Family is a talent pathway for family members of JetBlue crewmembers who are seeking to become pilots at JetBlue. The programme allows a successful applicant to earn all certificates/ratings and gain experience as a pilot at an approved airline, and then join JetBlue as a First Officer after meeting all programme and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. On successful completion, candidates go through orientation and a six-week training programme for First Officers. Candidates have five (5) years from acceptance into the programme to complete all programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Complete flight training and earn certificates/ratings at a training location of the candidate's choosing. Take employment at a partner airline or Part 121 regional airline to meet all time and experience requirements. Complete new hire training as a JetBlue First Officer. Requirements Eligible applicants must not possess any certificates/ratings beyond a Commercial certificate upon beginning the programme. Eligible applicants must not exceed 500 hours total time upon beginning the programme. Must be a child/stepchild, spouse, sibling or parent of a JetBlue crewmember. The JetBlue crewmember must be in active status and have at least one (1) year of employment at JetBlue. The JetBlue crewmember must be in good standing (not on any form of progressive guidance) at the time of the family member's application. Must successfully complete the entire selection process, including application and interview. Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located; authorisation to work in the US is required and this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants previously accepted into a JetBlue Gateway programme are not eligible to apply. On completion of the programme, must be able to meet all requirements in JetBlue's Pilot Trainee requisition.
