About the Company The Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility on Airbus Way at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley opened in 2015 and produces A320 Family aircraft, adding a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Role Overview The Flightline Mechanic joins the Manufacturing department in Mobile, Alabama, and is responsible for performing functional test procedures and pre- and post-flight inspections to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. The mechanic operates and understands a wide variety of test equipment and tooling and must be able to interpret technical manuals, drawings and engineering data to support tasks. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot malfunctions and rig, repair and replace aircraft structures, components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty. Maintain and rework aircraft components including landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and ventilation. Service and repair cabin interior components. Prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure. Perform day-to-day aircraft maintenance. Carry out refuel and defuel operations and aircraft jacking and towing. Licences & Qualifications Licence: valid Airframe licence. Vocational or technical school credential. Experience Minimum three years of aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment. Requirements Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport allowing unrestricted travel to Canada. Authorised to work in the United States without sponsorship. Physical: vision adequate to read computer screens and identify individuals; hearing sufficient for office conversations and to hear alerts and warning signals; able to engage in conversations in person and electronically and deliver information to groups. Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Able to occasionally carry up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and to push and pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Able to sit for extended periods, occasionally squat or kneel to reach bottom shelves, and stand for extended periods. Able to travel domestically and internationally for short periods, and to walk through office and production areas, around flight lines and airstrips, sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces. Additional Information This is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period, which could be extended or shortened as needed.
