About the Company Star Flyer Inc., Star Flyer Head Office Building, 6 Kuko Kitamachi, Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. Recruitment is handled by the Personnel Section of the General Affairs and Human Resources Department. Role Overview Mid-career recruitment of flight crew members as captain candidates. Two positions are available. Duties on joining are flight crew duties; the scope of change covers other duties determined by the company. Training is conducted at the Kitakyushu Airport facility. Key Responsibilities Perform flight crew duties as a captain candidate Undertake other duties determined by the company Requirements Experience flying as captain with a Japanese scheduled airline, with at least 1,000 hours of PIC time on jet aircraft Valid Class 1 aviation medical certificate Applicants who have previously flown for StarFlyer are also eligible to apply Licences & Qualifications JCAB Airline Transport Pilot Licence (skill certificate for scheduled air transport) Aeronautical radio operator licence, or a licence recognised as equivalent or higher Aviation English proficiency certification at Level 4 or above Employment terms Employment type 1: long-term employee (permanent staff), under 60 years of age (the retirement age is 60; exception clause 1), with no fixed term and a three-month probation period from joining Employment type 2: senior flight crew contract employee, aged 60 or over, fixed term from the joining date to 31 March 2027, with no probation period. Contracts are renewed annually in principle and may be renewed after the above period, up to a maximum age of 68 (the retirement age for contract employees) Start date: as designated by the company Work location on joining: Kitakyushu Airport or Haneda Airport; training is carried out at the Kitakyushu Airport facility. Scope of change: any location designated by the company, including transfers and relocation Working hours: shift work under a variable working hours system, averaging no more than 40 hours per week over a one-month period.
