About the Company CommuteAir is a United Express regional carrier recruiting pilots for its bases in Houston (IAH) and Washington, D.C. (IAD). Following a recently announced pay increase, Direct-Entry Captains also receive 1:1 pay scale credit for up to 20 years of prior FAR 121 industry experience. Role Overview Pilot positions are available as First Officer or as Direct-Entry Captain. CommuteAir looks for pilots who exemplify its core values of safety, care, dependability and efficiency. Requirements FAA ATP or Restricted ATP minimums. FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit. IFR and landing current. Current First Class medical certificate. Valid passport. Authorisation to work in the U.S. and to travel in and out of the country without restriction. Prior FAR 121 and/or Embraer 145 experience and/or Aviate participation preferred. Preferential interviews are provided for United, United Express partner and Aviate candidates. Direct-Entry Captain applicants need at least 1,000 qualified FAR hours. What We Offer Captain starting pay: $152.25 per hour. First Officer starting pay: $79.57 per hour, rising to $93.36 per hour in year 2. First Officer bonus: $20,000. 1:1 pay scale credit for up to 20 years of prior FAR 121 industry experience. Per diem of $2.10. Minimum monthly guarantee of 76 hours, with no airport reserve. Company-sponsored commuter travel programme, with 4 commuter rooms monthly for line holders and 6 for reserve pilots; industry-leading commuter benefits. 401(k) contributions up to 16%, matched 50% by the company. Medical, dental and vision cover, short-term and long-term disability and more. Company-paid iPad (EFB) and a preferential bidding system. Employee pass travel privileges on the United Airlines global route network. Additional Information CommuteAir offers several entry points intended to get a flying career started in 90 days or less: United Aviate Program: a secure, direct path to a United flight deck, transitioning from CommuteAir to United Airlines with 1,600 PIC hours. Direct-Entry Captain Program: start in the left seat with at least 1,000 qualified FAR hours, with 1:1 pay scale credit for up to 20 years of prior FAR 121 industry experience. Rotor Transition Program: military and civilian helicopter pilot training counts towards qualification. E-3 Visa Program: allows Australian nationals to fly for CommuteAir.
