Role Overview The First Officer supports the Commander in the safe and efficient conduct of the flight, operating in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and company reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Carry out the duties concerning the flight allocated by the Commander, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific aeroplane type Confirm the safe navigation of the aeroplane and maintain a continuous and independent check on both its geographical position and its safe terrain clearance Volunteer advice, information and assistance to the Commander that may contribute favourably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight Seek and receive information and/or explanation from the Commander as may be necessary to fulfil the First Officer function Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of the company Support the Commander, by active example, in the development and maintenance of a high standard of professional expertise and morale among the crew Report to the Commander any fault, failure, malfunction or defect believed to affect the airworthiness or safe operation of the aeroplane, including emergency systems (CAT.GEN.MPA.100(b)) Make use of the company's occurrence reporting scheme as per Chapter 11, unless a particular occurrence has already been reported by another crew member; in all such cases a copy of the report is communicated to the Commander concerned (ORO.GEN.160, CAT.GEN.MPA.100(b)(3)) Licences & Qualifications EASA Part-FCL ATPL, or CPL/IR with ATPL theory (frozen ATPL) EASA Part-MED Class 1 medical certificate Minimum ICAO English language proficiency level 4, preferably level 6 Full second-level graduation as a minimum (for example Baccalaureat, Abitur, A-Level exam, Matura or Fachschulreife) Experience Minimum 1,500 hours multi-pilot multi-engine on jet aircraft, or on turboprop aircraft with an MTOW above 10 tonnes or a seating capacity above 19 seats Candidates with 2,000 hours on widebody aircraft will be considered for a Senior First Officer position Requirements Above average flying abilities and impeccable safety standards
