About the Company Kalitta Air is seeking pilot applicants interested in working in the challenging environment of providing global airlift. The airline operates scheduled runs that take its pilots around the globe, as well as ad-hoc trips into parts of the world that are both challenging and rewarding on many levels. Role Overview The First Officer safely assists the Captain and crew, through the use of Crew Resource Management (CRM), in operating the aircraft in accordance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform preflight inspections of the aircraft and freight. Assist the crew with the necessary paperwork. Operate the aircraft with precise attention to policy, regulations and procedures. Call attention to any unsafe condition while on the ground or in flight. Perform post-flight inspections of the aircraft. Requirements No restrictions on international travel and a current US passport. Ability to pass a 10-year security background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Licences & Qualifications FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate - unrestricted. 1,700 hours total time minimum; 2,000+ hours preferred. 700 hours multi-engine minimum. 500 hours turbine (jet) flight time preferred. Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate. FCC Radio Licence. What We Offer Pay: $117 per hour first-year pay with a 64-hour monthly guarantee. Full flight pay beginning on day one of training. All flying on off days paid at 150% of the hourly rate. Schedule: 16 days on, 15 days off (14 days off in a 30-day month). Pilots may bid for the more common 16 days in a row or, when available, split schedules such as 8 days on, 15 days off, 8 days on. No junior manning. Industry-leading Blue Cross/Blue Shield health, dental and vision coverage. 12% 401(k) direct contribution. 100% company-paid travel to and from work; pilots may live anywhere in the country, including Alaska and Hawaii. The company purchases positive-space tickets to and from duty assignments, removing the need to jumpseat to and from work.
