About the Company Flexjet operates a private jet fleet flying domestic and international missions for aircraft owners. Role Overview This role works as part of a team piloting the assigned Flexjet aircraft on both domestic and international flights, providing a safe flight for Flexjet owners during their scheduled rotation. The First Officer is functionally responsible as Second-in-Command (SIC) on all flights. Key Responsibilities Adhere to the duties and responsibilities outlined in the Flexjet Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and the Crew Flight Manual Perform all First Officer / SIC duties as directed by the Pilot-in-Command (PIC), knowing which individual duties are expected Through the PIC, ensure the assigned aircraft is airworthy and all proper documents are on board Report all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents promptly to the Chief Pilot Maintain a current medical certificate as required by the company, and notify the Chief Pilot if a physical or mental condition may impair the ability to perform the flight At the end of the day, ensure through the PIC that all maintenance discrepancies are reported and documented to Maintenance Control, and that dispatch is alerted to the current status of the aircraft Ensure a copy of the Flight Operations Manual is aboard the aircraft and readily available to the crew Through the PIC, maintain contact with dispatch or other flight department management, often during a flight, so that operational messages pass promptly between the flight crew and the dispatcher Maintain a high degree of crew coordination, performing duties in a professional, efficient and cordial manner at all times Responsible to the Chief Pilot for duty assignments and training Greet passengers, assist with passenger seating and luggage storage, and conduct passenger briefings Assist with emergency evacuations Licences & Qualifications Licence: all candidates must meet ATP minimums (written complete and qualified to take the check ride) Medical: current First Class Medical Valid passport, and the ability to obtain a CANPASS permit (Canadian Customs programme) Preferred: bachelor's degree in aviation, aviation management or a related field, or equivalent experience Experience Competitive candidates will have 3,000 hours total time Quality of flight time matters: special consideration is given for military experience, PIC time, turbine time and experience in one of the company's airframes Desirable: previous experience in Part 135, Part 91K or corporate aircraft operations Requirements Working knowledge of all Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to FAR Part 135, Part 91 Subpart K and Part 91 Thorough knowledge of FAA, ICAO and other international flight operations regulations Strong organisational skills and advanced multi-tasking abilities Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills Computer skills sufficient to operate word processing, email and web-based applications Passionate attention to detail and the ability to work in a team atmosphere Present a well-groomed appearance Legal right to work in the United States, and the ability to travel in and out of the US and to all cities and countries Flexjet serves Working conditions and physical requirements Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; wet or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; and chemicals including aviation fuels and lavatory fluid. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud Beyond the requirements for a First Class Medical certificate, the pilot must be able to complete day-to-day tasks associated with operating an aeroplane, including loading and unloading bags, thorough preflight and post-flight checks, assisting with snow and ice removal in inclement weather, installing and removing engine covers, and daily cleaning of the aircraft as outlined in the Flexjet FOM and respective Crew Flight Manual Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Additional Information Domiciles: candidates must reside near, or be willing to reside near, their assigned domicile, and must be able to report to domicile within two hours regardless of weather conditions in order to meet the responsiveness required by the owner. Pilots may change domicile with proper notice. Commuting to and from the domicile is at company expense and during scheduled days. There is no limit to the number of pilots at each domicile.
