Role Overview As a First Officer you directly affect PSA Airlines inflight operations, making sure customers reach their destination safely and on time. Key Responsibilities Call the Captain's attention to any deviation from regulations, company policy or safe operating practices. Comply with company and FAA procedures, directives and regulations affecting the proposed flight. Perform the duties of Second-in-Command (SIC) in accordance with the company Standardization Program. Aid the Captain in preflight preparation as appropriate. Perform a visual preflight (walk-around) inspection before each flight and a visual post-flight inspection after each flight. Assume, secondarily, all responsibilities of the Captain and, should the Captain become incapacitated, full responsibility of the Captain. Perform such other duties as directed by the Captain. Authorities Take action as deemed necessary to resolve any problem or situation that may compromise safety or compliance. Direct the flight crew in a safe and efficient manner to meet the operational requirements of the company. Requirements Ability to obtain a valid passport. Must be able to speak, read and write English. If hired, must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the United States. Licences & Qualifications Must obtain an instrument rating and a commercial licence with multi-engine. Ability to obtain a First Class Medical. Ability to obtain an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit. Must meet the necessary hours and qualifications under the ATP requirements or the restricted ATP requirements. Additional Information This is a supervisory position. Work environment: professional office environment using standard office equipment. The role is largely sedentary, but the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 25 lbs, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Security clearance: all employees must pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49 CFR 1542.209 and a pre-employment drug screen.
