About the Company Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, is a South African airline. This is a permanent position with market-related remuneration. Role Overview FlySafair has vacancies for First Officers at its various bases in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Lanseria. The successful applicant will report to the Fleet Captain. Key Responsibilities Operations Ensure the safety of flight in a timely manner. Monitor the flight path and the systems of the aircraft. Perform checks and procedures before, during and after each flight. Communicate with internal departments, external service providers and passengers. Navigate and operate the flight. Ensure compliance with regulations and with company policies and procedures. Uphold the company's core competitive edge, namely excellent customer service. Submit accurate and complete legal administrative documentation. Assume command in the event of the incapacitation of the Captain. Reasonable steps the First Officer must take Stay up to date with the applicable SACAA and international aviation laws and with the company operations manuals. Maintain familiarity with those provisions of the company Operations Manual that are necessary to fulfil the required function. Assist the Captain as requested with operational and administrative duties relating to the flight. Assist the Captain in upholding a high standard of crew discipline, behaviour and personal appearance. Further duties Carry out flight duties in accordance with FlySafair standard operating procedures, including the procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific aircraft type. Undertake any additional duties allocated by the Captain. Confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check on both the geographical position of the aircraft and its safe terrain clearance.
