Role Overview The Direct-Entry Captain acts as Pilot-in-Command on CommuteAir's Embraer 145 fleet in the United Express operation, joining directly in the left seat with 1:1 pay scale credit for up to 20 years of prior FAR 121 experience. Key Responsibilities Contribute to a reliable, on-time operation by meeting all report times, departure times and minimum turn times. Plan each flight properly using all applicable weather information and reports, in accordance with company policies and procedures and the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Act as Pilot-in-Command and exercise sound judgement in the safe and efficient operation of the flight. Incorporate relevant information, develop operational strategies and choose the best course of action consistent with safe, reliable and efficient aircraft operation under the FARs and company policies and procedures. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the equipment operated, the FARs governing its operation, and company manuals, policies, procedures and other instructions. Communicate information, ideas and other operational factors affecting the flight to crew and passengers in a timely manner. Requirements Instrument current, with 20 hours of flight time logged in the past six months. Valid passport, and able to travel internationally without restriction, particularly to Canada and Mexico. Legally authorised to work in the United States. Licences & Qualifications Current FAA ATP MEL licence with instrument rating. Current FAA First Class Medical certificate. FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit. Experience 1,000 hours of applicable Part 121 SIC or Part 135 PIC experience (FAR 121.436).
