ALG Talent is currently seeking experienced Data Analysts to join one of Australia's leading commercial airlines based at Brisbane Airport. This is an opportunity for candidates who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

This is a casual position working full-time office hours, offering an initial minimum 3-month contract with strong potential for extension.

Reports to: Head of Procurement and Part Sales

Purpose:
The Data Analyst - Freight & Logistics is responsible for collecting, analysing and interpreting data across freight, logistics and supply chain operations. The role delivers actionable insights to streamline processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs and support strategic decision-making. The analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven improvements in financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Data Analyst is responsible for but not limited to:
  • Rapidly collect, cleanse and integrate freight and logistics data from multiple sources.
  • Analyse shipment details, costs, carrier performance and delivery metrics to identify quick wins and urgent opportunities.
  • Conduct focused lane-level cost analysis, route optimisation, and carrier benchmarking to support immediate decision-making.
  • Build and deliver predictive models for demand, shipment volumes, and lead times, tailored to current business priorities.
  • Present clear, concise findings and recommendations to stakeholders for fast implementation.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment and accelerate improvements.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety, security, and regulatory requirements.


Key Deliverables:

  • Cost Optimisation Analysis: Targeted analysis identifying immediate cost drivers, savings opportunities and prioritised recommendations for process improvements.
  • Forecasting Models: Developed predictive analytics for shipment volumes, demand, and lead times, with clear documentation of assumptions and accuracy.
  • Performance Dashboards: Simple, actionable dashboards or reports tracking key metrics and trends for ongoing monitoring by the business.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Data Science or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst in logistics, freight or supply chain environment.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R and data visualisation.


Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, freight management, and supply chain principles.
  • Familiar with industry KPIs, compliance standards and best practices.
