Role Overview STARLUX is seeking licensed commercial pilots with multi-engine and instrument ratings to undertake a six-month type rating training programme which includes ground school, simulator training and initial operating experience. On completion of the programme and the line check you will be ready to fly as a First Officer at STARLUX. Requirements Citizen of R.O.C. Taiwan, with a valid National Identification Card Education: associate's degree or above (foreign degrees must be authenticated by the ROC Embassy, Consulate and Representative Office) A valid certificate of proficiency in English: TOEIC 800 or above (listening 400 or above) with 160 or above in speaking and 150 or above in writing, taken at a public test session; or TOEFL iBT 80 or above (listening 21 or above); or IELTS 6.0 or above with no individual band below 5.0 ICAO English Proficiency Level 4 or above One reference (a faculty member from your school or a supervisor from a previous position) with contact information Licences & Qualifications A valid FAA, CAA or ICAO Commercial Pilot Licence with multi-engine and instrument rating Passed the R.O.C. CAA Airman Written Examination A valid R.O.C. CAA Class One Medical Certificate An approval letter from the R.O.C. CAA is required for anyone who has undergone vision correction surgery Experience Minimum of 250 total flight hours, including up to 50 hours in a simulator Flight operation within the 12 months before taking part in a simulator assessment Documents for Application National identification card Highest academic degree certificate (foreign degrees must be authenticated by the ROC Embassy, Consulate and Representative Office); current students should provide a student card Valid certificate of proficiency in English Certificate of discharge or military service status issued by the Ministry of Defense FAA, CAA or ICAO Commercial Pilot Licence Non-incident/accident record provided by the licence-issuing authority and the flight training institute R.O.C. CAA Class One Medical Certificate Flight logbook Additional Information Recruitment process: written exam, panel interview, group assessment, simulator assessment and individual professional interview. Interviews are held mainly in northern Taiwan. Graduating students and personnel being discharged from military service may take part in the screening process, but graduation diplomas and military discharge papers must be obtained before training starts or admission eligibility is revoked All stages of the admission process must be completed to STARLUX's satisfaction for admission to the CPL programme Admitted individuals sign a training contract with STARLUX to obtain the status of trainee first officer, and must follow all STARLUX rules during training Individuals invited to the recruitment process are limited to a maximum of two attempts Frequently asked points: recruitment is on a long-term basis and applications are accepted at any time, with priority given to applicants who have not applied before; applicants who pass screening are contacted by email. A valid R.O.C. CAA Class One Medical Certificate must be uploaded to complete the application. Applicants who are nearsighted qualify if 1.0 visual acuity can be achieved with corrective lenses; those who have had LASIK surgery must complete the eyesight verification process through the CAA. The English language test score only needs to be valid at the moment the application is submitted, although renewal is advised. All requested documents must be originals, which are returned after verification at the initial interview.
