About the Company As dawn breaks and the city is only just waking, the first light falls on EVA Air's crew reporting centre, where the pilots of the airline's early flights are already in full uniform, wearing the flying-eagle insignia that symbolises their honour. After a detailed flight plan briefing they set out for Taoyuan International Airport to operate their flights, carrying a cabin full of joy and longing from Taiwan to destinations around the world. “A safe and comfortable flight is both an honour and a responsibility” — this is the mission of every EVA Air pilot, and fulfilling it depends on rigorous training, just as a diamond must be cut on many faces before it can shine. Role Overview Category: Civil Aviation Pilot. EVA Air is recruiting experienced commercial pilots who already hold a Republic of China (Taiwan) civil aviation licence. Requirements Must hold a Republic of China (Taiwan) national identity card. Junior college level qualification or above. At least 2,000 hours total flying time, including at least 500 hours on commercial multi-engine, multi-crew jet types with a maximum take-off weight of 20 tonnes or more. Civil Aviation Pilot candidates must have flown an actual aircraft within the 12 months before the simulator assessment. Licences & Qualifications Valid Republic of China (Taiwan) civil aviation commercial pilot certificate (ATPL). Valid Class A civil aviation personnel medical examination pass certificate. Valid ICAO radiotelephony English proficiency certificate at Level 4 or above. Documents for the selection process: bring the originals and photocopies of the items below to the written examination; originals are returned after verification. Photocopy of both sides of the national identity card. Passport. Graduation certificate for the highest qualification held. Discharge order or certificate of exemption from military service. TOEIC score report of 650 or above obtained within the last two years. Valid Republic of China (Taiwan) civil aviation commercial pilot certificate (ATPL). CAA accident-free flying certificate. CAA Aviation Medical Center Class A medical certificate and medical report, including hepatitis B and hepatitis C results from the first examination. Company-certified record of flying hours for the last six months. Proof of flight training. Additional Information Examination items and selection process: Stage one (written examination): civil aviation professional knowledge. Stage two: the Aviation Medical Center personality test. Stage three (simulator assessment): evaluation of the candidate's basic flying ability and ability to learn. Stage four: interview with management. Stage five (CAA Aviation Medical Center medical examination): candidates who pass the earlier stages must meet the Aviation Medical Center Class A personnel medical standards. What We Offer Loss of Licence insurance: cover for pilots who lose their Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) Aviation Medical Center medical certificate through medical incapacity — USD 100,000 at First Officer rank and USD 200,000 at Captain rank, with the premiums paid by the company; pilots may purchase additional cover of USD 50,000 or USD 100,000 at their own expense. Other insurance: labour insurance, National Health Insurance and preferential group term life insurance rates. Health care: consultations with professional physicians, general medical treatment and regular free health examinations as required by law. Recreation: the spacious EVA Air Training Centre in Nankan offers an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, table tennis room, billiards room and badminton courts, plus a convenience store for trainees' daily needs. Special leave: 22 days of special leave per year, starting three months after the first mission flown on completion of training, rising with seniority to a maximum of 42 days per year. Training and development: scheduled and ad hoc training throughout the year, professional lectures and seminars, subsidies for foreign language training, and library lending. Allowances: marriage and bereavement allowances, wedding gifts, funeral condolence payments and sickness or injury benefits. Employee care: health care, psychological counselling and legal advice services. The company has no cooperation of any kind with outside job-application cram schools. Candidates who attempt to exert influence through intermediaries will not be hired. If a CV or autobiography submitted to EVA Air is found to have been written by AI, the candidate's eligibility to sit the examinations and any offer of admission will be cancelled.
