Job Purpose
This role is responsible for ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable management of all cargo operations, maximizing revenue opportunities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. This position is critical for aligning cargo operations with the company's strategic objectives and ensuring seamless coordination between commercial, operational, handling and Cargo partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cargo Revenue Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize cargo revenue across all routes.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing, capacity allocation, and sales tactics accordingly.

2. Operational Oversight

  • Ensure on-time performance of cargo operations in compliance with safety and security regulations.
  • Oversee loading, unloading, handling, and storage processes to prevent damage and delays.

3. Commercial Strategy & Sales

  • Build and maintain relationships with key freight forwarders, shippers, and strategic partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure competitive advantage.

4. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all cargo operations comply with IATA, ICAO, and local aviation authority regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for customs, dangerous goods, and special cargo shipments.

5. Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage the cargo department budget.
  • Monitor performance against revenue targets and cost efficiency metrics.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate cargo team members to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure training is up to date, particularly for safety and dangerous goods handling.

7. Customer Service & Issue Resolution

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by ensuring prompt resolution of service issues.
  • Implement service quality improvement initiatives.

8. Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics for decision-making and process optimization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in cargo operations, logistics, or airfreight management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Certifications: IATA DGR, Live Animals Regulations (LAR), Perishable Cargo Handling (preferred).
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of cargo management systems (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (oral and written).
