Job Description

About the Company At Norra we support each other's enthusiasm and let everyone shine. We do our work responsibly, with solid professional skill and a smile. We understand our responsibility for the wellbeing and job satisfaction of everyone at Norra, and we want Norra to be a dream workplace for us all. Role Overview We are looking for new Captains for our ATR fleet. In preparation for the growth of our business we are running a continuous recruitment campaign for experienced pilots to join our hiring pool and our ATR fleet as Captains. Previous command experience is not required: you have the opportunity to move into the left seat through a fast-track progression route (Fast Track). Previous command experience is considered an advantage (Direct Entry Captain). Courses are run throughout the year according to the company's needs. You must also be able to work irregular shift work. We mainly operate feeder traffic, so shifts can include both early mornings and late evenings, as well as night-stop duties where the shift includes an overnight stay away from base. Requirements At least 18 years of age. A valid commercial pilot licence, EASA CPL(A) or ATPL(A). At least 3,000 flight hours on CS-25 class aeroplanes. Direct Entry Captain applicants: at least 500 flight hours of experience as pilot in command of an aeroplane. A valid or lapsed multi-engine instrument rating and instrument rating (Multi-Engine/IR or Single-Engine/IR). A valid Class 1 medical certificate. Good hearing and colour vision, with or without corrective lenses. Fluent Finnish, at least Finnish Level 5. A valid language proficiency test, at least English Level 4. An unblemished background as required for a basic-level security clearance. A sound attitude towards the drug- and alcohol-free standards required in aviation. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and flexibility. We hope that Norra's values – collegiality, a sense of responsibility and the right to excellence – are also important to you. Advantageous ATR 72-500 or -600 flight experience and/or type rating. Licences & Qualifications Please attach copies of the following certificates to your application: A copy of your valid licence. A copy of your valid medical certificate. Copies of your flight school certificates, including certificates of AUPRT and MCC training and the ATPL theory examinations. Before a course starts you must attend a pre-employment medical examination paid for by Norra, which includes a drug and alcohol screen. Before the employment relationship begins you must have the following vaccinations valid: hepatitis A and B, MMR and tetanus. What We Offer Free, high-quality type rating training. A varied route network with Helsinki-Vantaa as your home base. Competitive pay and terms of employment. Discounted staff flight tickets on our partner airlines. Extensive occupational health care. Epassi wellbeing allowance. The option of a tax-free HSL commuter travel ticket. Free parking near the terminal for the duration of your duties. A skilled and pleasant team, a development-minded atmosphere, and a shift-swap option that helps with managing life around shift work. Additional Information What does continuous recruitment mean and when does it close? Continuous recruitment is open until further notice with no closing date. It can, however, close quickly according to the company's needs, so submit your application in good time. Timetable. Test rounds are arranged according to the company's needs. The first test round will be held in January 2027, and applications submitted by Sunday 16 November 2026 will be considered for it. Applicants invited to the first test round will be contacted by email during November and December. Selection process. The ATR Captain recruitment process has three stages, all of which must be passed to join the hiring pool: initial screening on the basis of CV and application; an aptitude assessment (carried out by our partner Selex Oy) together with an interview day comprising a psychologist's interview and an individual interview with company representatives; and finally a simulator assessment. Interviews are held face to face near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and, as a rule, cannot be attended remotely. The simulator assessment is flown on an ATR 72-500 simulator with the applicant acting as pilot flying (PF), also in the immediate vicinity of Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Selection decisions are communicated by email and are based on the combined result of all parts, although a single part may also be decisive. Personal feedback on the decision cannot be given. Costs. No. Norra covers the costs of the selection process. After selection. Pilots selected through continuous recruitment are placed in the hiring pool, from which they are called to upcoming company courses as the company needs them. Further training consists of the company course and the type rating course; both are free of charge and unpaid. The employment relationship begins after the type rating course has been passed (from the skill test), and a three (3) year training commitment is made with the employee. Collective agreement. We currently apply the collective agreement for Nordic Regional Airlines Oy airline pilots concluded between Norra, the Service Sector Employers PALTA ry, FAPA ry and ASIA ry. Security clearance. In a basic-level security clearance, the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service (SUPO) checks a person's background using the information sources defined in law and careful overall consideration. Findings can lead to a course place being cancelled or an employment relationship being terminated; as well as serious offences under investigation or convicted, they can include, for example, repeated payment defaults or driving under the influence. The basic security clearance is carried out for course participants before the company course begins. Re-applying. We apply a 12-month waiting period, so you may apply again once at least 12 months have passed since a previous negative recruitment decision. If you were not invited to the first test round, you may still be included in a later one; test places are limited. Questions about the process or criteria can be sent to our recruitment team at rekry@flynorra.com. For data security reasons we cannot process applications sent by email.
