Captain (CE-208)

Job Description

Role Overview Pilot in Command on the CE-208 for CSA Air. The Captain is responsible for preflight planning and the operation of the flight in compliance with FAR Part 135 and the Operations Specifications. The position sits within Flight Operations and reports to the Chief Pilot. Key Responsibilities Exercise command authority and command responsibility Remain current and licensed in all respects with regard to the requirements of FAR 135 and the company Ensure the crew is in uniform, properly licensed and in possession of the licences and documents required for the flight Approve all flight paperwork, forms and reports required by the FAA and the company, ensuring accuracy and proper routing Confirm that the aircraft flight log contains the proper maintenance due items Confirm the aircraft has been properly closed and secured for flight Confirm the flight kit, proper equipment and appropriate current charts, maps, en-route and approach plates are aboard before departure Conduct a proper pre-flight weather check for the routes to be flown; if unsatisfactory conditions exist or are forecast, inform Flight Following of a mutually agreeable alternate route or appropriate action Secure a flight release authorisation from Flight Following before departure, file a flight plan and initiate the aircraft flight log form Be familiar with and comply with all procedures, limitations, advisories and NOTAMs to ensure the safe, efficient and appropriate conduct of the flight in accordance with FAR 135 and company procedures Operate the aircraft within prescribed limits and weight requirements at all times, confirm correct and sufficient fuel, oil, oxygen and other fluids are aboard before each departure, verify that weight and balance paperwork is accurately prepared and signed, and that the aircraft is free of contaminants Ensure no pilot operates an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner that endangers life or property, in flight or on the ground Log all discrepancies encountered in flight in the aircraft flight log Responsible for the initiation, continuation, diversion and termination of a flight in compliance with the FARs, Operations Specifications and company operating policies Exercise proper use of all aircraft checklists at all times Perform other duties required or assigned by the Chief Pilot or their representative Licences & Qualifications All appropriate licences required to fly competently as Captain of CE-208 aircraft Medical: FAA Second Class Medical Experience 1,200 hours total time 800 hours Pilot-in-Command Requirements Must live within 45 miles of the assigned airport Regular interaction with Flight Following, FBOs, the Chief Pilot, the Director of Operations and flight crew Additional Information Work schedule: full-time.
