Role Overview This is a cadet pilot vacancy for pilots-to-be who are passionate about flying. Cadets are trained in the United States or Australia for approximately one year before receiving their Commercial Pilot Licence, followed by six months of aeroplane conversion training. All tuition and living expenses during training are covered by STARLUX. On completion of all necessary courses and certifications you officially become a commercial pilot. Requirements Citizen of R.O.C. Taiwan, with a valid National Identification Card Education: associate's degree or above (foreign degrees must be authenticated by the ROC Embassy, Consulate and Representative Office) A valid certificate of proficiency in English: TOEIC 800 or above (listening 400 or above) with 160 or above in speaking and 150 or above in writing, taken at a public test session; or TOEFL iBT 80 or above (listening 21 or above); or IELTS 6.0 or above with no individual band below 5.0 Physically fit and qualified for a Civil Aviation Authority Class One Medical Certificate One reference (a faculty member from your school or a supervisor from a previous position) with contact information Documents for Application National identification card Degree certificate for your highest level of education; current students should provide a student card A valid certificate of proficiency in English Certificate of discharge or military service status issued by the Ministry of Defense Flight logbook, if you have any flight hours R.O.C. CAA Class One Medical Certificate and Examination Report, including drug test, obtained before the aptitude test Additional Information Recruitment process: written exam, panel interview, group assessment, medical test, aptitude test and individual professional interview. Interviews are held mainly in northern Taiwan. The written test covers general knowledge (STARLUX information and news, aviation news and knowledge), mathematics and physics at 9th to 10th grade level, and cognitive logic and reasoning. Graduating students and personnel being discharged from military service may take part in the admission process, but graduation diplomas and military discharge papers must be obtained before training starts or admittance is revoked All stages of the admission process must be completed to STARLUX's satisfaction for admission to the cadet pilot programme Admitted individuals sign a training contract with STARLUX to obtain cadet pilot status, and must follow all STARLUX and training school rules during training Individuals invited to the recruitment process are limited to a maximum of two attempts Candidates sign a Consent Form for the Use of Psychological Assessment Data, which is used only for internal pilot recruitment and selection Frequently asked points: recruitment is on a long-term basis and applications are accepted at any time, with priority given to applicants who have not applied before; applicants who pass screening are contacted by email. A valid R.O.C. CAA Class One Medical Certificate must be obtained before the aptitude test. Previous flight experience does not affect the outcome, but CPL holders should apply through the CPL pilot recruitment programme instead. Applicants who are nearsighted qualify if 1.0 visual acuity can be achieved with corrective lenses; those who have had LASIK surgery must complete the eyesight verification process through the R.O.C. CAA. English test results must be valid when the application is sent. All requested documents must be originals, which are returned after verification at the initial interview. TOEIC speaking and writing scores must come from the same test, and both Academic and General Training IELTS are accepted. Ground school is conducted at the overseas flight school, with a book list provided beforehand.
