About the Company Airbus Helicopters is the world's largest helicopter manufacturer and its Oxford Airport site is Britain's civil helicopter hub. AHUK has considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support, and its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight testing and certification as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications. AHUK is the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Defence Helicopter Flying School (MFTS) at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire and RAF Valley in Anglesey. Role Overview AHUK has a new opportunity arising from a new contract to support MoD aircraft located in Brunei. The aircraft are engaged in a variety of tasks and need maximum availability for the customer, so your contribution is key to the success of the contract and to the customer's operational capability. The initial on-site duration in Brunei is expected to run until 2028, with potential for extension. Key Responsibilities Ensure aircraft are prepared for the day's flying activity. Carry out line maintenance activities. Take part in base maintenance on site in Brunei. Carry out defect rectification and fault diagnosis. Perform production duties on site as directed by the chief engineer. Licences & Qualifications Licence (essential): UK CAA licensed engineer. Type rating (essential): type rated on the H145 BK117 D-2/3 helicopter. Military training or a civilian apprenticeship or qualification in aircraft maintenance. Knowledge of CAP 562 Leaflet B40. Experience Experienced aircraft engineer with extensive rotary-wing experience. Good knowledge of Part-145 regulation. Methodical approach to engineering problems with good fault diagnosis abilities. Requirements Pragmatic and flexible with a keen attitude towards safety and regulatory compliance. Able to work closely with the customer and build relationships to achieve objectives. Flexibility is key: the role includes on-call periods as well as early starts with early finishes or, at times, late starts and late finishes. Positive and upbeat when faced with challenges, a competent engineer who gains the confidence of peers and supervisors, and comfortable in unusual environments. DBS security clearance and eligibility for SC clearance are required. Applicants must meet all ITAR and export compliance requirements. You will be required to work on site in Oxford, UK for up to 4 months to complete AHUK training before deployment to Brunei.
