B1 or B2 Line Engineer - Day Shifts

Job Description

Role Overview To provide and support effective and efficient engineering at East Midlands Airport (EMA) and across the UK network, meeting operational requirements in a sustainable and safe manner. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the relevant B1 or B2 work at EMA is carried out on time, in full and to the required standards, and for covering line station annual leave and attending AOG call-outs. Department: P145 West Atlantic. Reports to the P145 Maintenance Manager. Position type: permanent, full-time. Shift pattern: week on / week off, days. Key Responsibilities Certify the work carried out at EMA, in consultation with the Maintenance Manager and Production Planner. Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and that the relevant maintenance documentation, technical logs and work orders are completed and returned to technical records. Ensure any parts or tools required for maintenance are ordered correctly, and monitor estimated delivery times with logistics. Ensure tools and equipment are treated correctly and stored in the correct locations. Ensure proper handover procedures are completed in accordance with the MOE. Maintain company premises and good housekeeping standards at all times, reporting any building or facilities defects to the Maintenance Manager. Stay well informed about valid instructions, regulations and maintenance information. Stay well informed about production quality control and quality audit procedures, particularly how they apply to specific maintenance tasks. Perform maintenance on equipment used for maintenance to a high standard; restore and clean all equipment after use and report failed or faulty equipment immediately to the tool control Supervisor. Keep current with the approved working schedules, company procedures, requirements and any authorisation ratings held for the work performed. Raise a Safety Management System (SMS) report whenever a violation of the established WAUK flight safety standard is discovered. Carry out any other reasonable duties in line with the responsibilities of the position. Licences & Qualifications Unrestricted UK B1 or B2 licence, or dual B1/B2. An EASA licence would be an advantage but is not essential. Hold at least one type rating relevant to West Atlantic (B737 NG, B737 CL). Experience Minimum 5 years of aviation engineering experience. Proactive, self-motivated and confident self-starter. Effective interpersonal skills and confident, effective written and verbal communication. Able to make sound judgements based on the needs of the company operation in a very fluid, fast-changing environment. Proven problem-solving, planning and organising skills.
