Role Overview STS Aviation Services is hiring a B1 Licensed Engineer / Structures Engineer in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Working alongside the Lead Structures Subject Matter Experts, the engineer supervises a skilled team of technicians on structural and mechanical maintenance and modification projects, ensuring safety, precision and compliance at every stage of the programme. The role supports task coordination, provides technical oversight and helps maintain operational efficiency throughout the production and modification lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Carry out detailed inspection in accordance with BAC (Boeing Aircraft Corporation) specifications. Ensure RA-4807 (RA-4806) is followed and understood for certifying and support staff. Interpret technical manuals, schematics and regulatory requirements. Track adherence to allocated task card hours for structures and mechanical maintenance and modifications. Identify discrepancies between planned and actual hours, and analyse root causes. Escalate variations to stakeholders, including line managers, planners and the programme team. Recommend process improvements to optimise efficiency and resource allocation. Support mechanical system testing, validation and troubleshooting. Provide mentorship to junior structures and mechanical personnel. Licences & Qualifications CAA/EASA Part-66 B1 licence. Type rated on the Boeing 737NG. Part-145 training requirements Initial and continuation Human Factors training. Initial and continuation SFAR phase 1 and 2 training. Initial and continuation EWIS group 1 and 2 training. ETOPS. RVSM. Experience Minimum of 10 years' aircraft experience. Previous modification experience. Inspection experience in heavy modification programmes. Excellent knowledge of aircraft systems. Requirements Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Knowledge of MS Office applications. Eligible to work and live in the UK; all applicants must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom for any employer. Subject to UK security vetting.
