Role Overview Important: this application is only for applicants who have already been accepted into United's Aviate programme. The Aviate First Officer flies the Embraer 145 as part of CommuteAir's United Express operation, on a secure and direct path towards a United Airlines flight deck. Key Responsibilities Contribute to a reliable, on-time operation by meeting all report times, departure times and minimum turn times. Plan each flight properly using all applicable weather information and reports, in accordance with company policies and procedures and the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Assist the Pilot-in-Command and exercise sound judgement in the safe and efficient operation of the flight. Incorporate relevant information, develop operational strategies and choose the best course of action consistent with safe, reliable and efficient aircraft operation under the FARs and company policies and procedures. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the equipment operated, the FARs governing its operation, and company manuals, policies, procedures and other instructions. Communicate information, ideas and other operational factors affecting the flight to crew and passengers in a timely manner. Requirements Meet FAA ATP or R-ATP minimums; you may interview within 6 months of meeting the minimums. IFR and landing current. Valid passport, and able to travel internationally without restriction, particularly to Canada and Mexico. Legally authorised to work in the United States. Licences & Qualifications FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (minimums met, or within 6 months of meeting them). FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit. Current First-Class Medical certificate.
